when im driving in my cockpit mode in my rx-7 and i press l1 to look back. Why is it so dark i can't see anything how can i fix this? Also can some1 help me with gear ratio transmission i have 370 horsepower but i cant set it right

The only solution is to not look back. It is quite irritating, especially at twilight or nighttime. There's just something wrong with the lighting system in gt5. It seems to reset to a base level every time you look around and then gradually adjust to where it wants to be, which is often not where it was before you looked. The Spirit R seems to make it worse as I think it has a tinted rear window which makes rear-view itself quite dark, but it happens in basically every premium I've driven.

In some cars with tinted stripes across the front, you can see cloud detail that is invisible through the rest of the windscreen, and would make the sky look much nicer if you could see it.

I've also noticed that looking in different directions resets some/all of the sound samples, like engines, horns, and(very funny at rally race starts) crowd noise. This happens in exterior views as well.

Don't know what might be wrong with your gears, sorry.

It seems that Morgoth_666 answered your question about the lighting problem, so I will attempt to solve your gearing issues.

First off, are you wanting your car to be geared more for acceleration, or top speed?

Well my top speed is 370 and i care more about acceleration since i drift with this car but when i take off from first gear my car goes redline so i have to push the throttle a couple times then switch to 2nd gear otherwise my car becomes loose and i lowered my first gear to the max but didnt help

You don't always have to go full throttle in 1st gear.
In more times than not, if you ease through the gears to avoid massive wheel spin, you can actually accelerate faster than if you were spinning the tyres.
