Parts "may" have been installed incorrectly? Isn't that always the case?

Yes I knew about this issue, Mazda's got it all fixed though. My dad had a tape on the issue, what I gathered was that the seal around the fuel pump would sometimes de-seat itself causing gas vapors to leak out. The recall replaces the clamping part that holds the fuel pump in, and the seals.

1.5 hrs is very long. Any good Mazda tech should beable to do it in 30 mins or less.

You never know, there could be a bigger problem and by having this re-call out its a way of getting the car in the garage. Im not saying by any means I believe this is true, All I mean is that if big companys want to cover up something the public will only know as much as they tell you.

I"m not a fan of Mazda anyway.....they are pretty famous for blowing up in US Touring..the tv host seem to always bias toward them for some reason.. ghey
