Following Keef, Azure, & Joey, this here, is a thread for my beloved Acura.

~Intro:
In December 2006, we met for the first time at David McDavid. It wouldn't be until a couple hours later that she would come home with me. She was a great looking car, and I never truly appreciated her looks until the 2009 model was shown. When I brought her home, you all were the first to know.

All through 2007 though, she was a good car. Great mileage, fun handling, terrific pickup. Well into 2008 though, I really started to appreciate my baby. It wasn't until the Fall of last year, though, that we really started to bond & she became more than just another car in my garage.
In November, I discovered Acurazine & was soon bit by the mod bug that bonded us even more. January 15th, her V2 Intake was installed. In February, her race & j-pipe were soon installed. In that same month, I ordered her a new exhaust to really let her be known. In the next 2 weeks, we'll hopefully get to hear them.

But to sum all this up, she really is my baby. I've loved all my cars before her, but I have a soft spot for this car now & the mods only further it. I'm positive many of you can relate on every level.

Of course, I will keep you all update on the progress of these mods & her adventures out on the track, cruises, & at the meets.

I was wondering when you would make a thread for your car. I love TL's and yours is going to be pretty sick. Did you ever decide on a set of wheels yet?
 
So not every member could make their own car thread, I believe? But nice Rev!
 
Why not just post pictures of your car in the GTP car directory and post parts updates in the 'What have you done to your car today' thread and then link posts in your sig? Meh.

It's so hard to choose. I'm torn between a set of Volks (despite their price tag), and anything else. I've looked at Work, Enkei, & a couple others. Might go with a black rim & chrome lip look as well.

Just decisions, decisions. Luckily, I'm not quite at the time to spring for new wheels.

Why haven't Azure, Keef, Joey, kingcar, Diablo, or Perfect Balance done the same, then? Because they want to share their cars & their projects with everyone as do I.

Some projects are way too involved to spam a general car thread with. I doubt people would like it if I kept updating the "What have you done to your car today" thread with my engine build; the story of the build would get lost and nobody would know what was goin on. The other builds that have their own threads, including this one, are similar in nature. They're just more involved than the typical "I replaced my radiator today."

BTW - Thats a really nice TL. I've always liked those...they're stout too! Keep the stock wheels, imo.

For one, the TSX has never had a V6 until this year. It had a K-Series engine, while I have a J-Series.
The TSX is also more nimble than a base TL, and a little bit more of a sports car than the TL.

But as Rotary said, everything. That's like me asking what's the difference between a Skyline & a Silvia. A lot.

If you are referring to the weight distribution, I have no idea. I would imagine it would be better than the TL
 
Nice car, although I wouldn't blow the money for a Rotora brake kit. Getting crappy parts for the pieces that stop your car is never a smart way to go. (not that they're cheap, but they've been making brakes for a whopping 10 years, and the only race cars they sponsor are drift cars that run for a few seconds at a time. Sounds like they know their stuff huh?)

EDIT: Wait. Don't TL's have 4 piston calipers stock?

What are you thinking man!? Don't throw those away, they're better that whatever Rotora may offer.

Brakes are something you only need to consider doing if you are regularly tracking the car for extended periods. I've seen highly competitive Civics that run rear drums still. And Tein makes crap parts from what I've seen, which is enough failures to not want them.

Spend the money on the port and polish first, rather than cheap parts. They are cheap for a reason, and you'd get more gains from simply getting better tires.

Nice car, although I wouldn't blow the money for a Rotora brake kit. Getting crappy parts for the pieces that stop your car is never a smart way to go. Really? I'm not saying you're wrong, but Rotora's seem to be pretty popular among the TL crowd. I was thinking of the Rotora Slotted Rotors heeding Azure's advice about cross-drilled rotors wearing out quickly.

I do plan on tracking the car, but I'm surprised by your comment about Tein. I know they're hyped to hell by the import crowd, but the SS kit has never been something I would consider crap. I've seen the kit in person at Jotech and it looks like a pretty solid kit to me. Haven't really read any negatives about them, either.

Tein Superstreets are good for show, and that is about it. From what I read and hear, most people are pretty sure they are made in Taiwan or something, not Japan. You'd probably be better off going with some Koni's and Ground Controls or such than Tein's US market junk.

Cross drilled rotors are also at a higher risk for cracking, and were pretty much functional in like 1960 when pads actually produced gases. Isn't an issue anymore.
