I drove to Buffalo, NY yesterday and we stopped at a McDonald's there. I noticed that you can't get the traditional 6-pack or 9-pack McNuggets in the US, only 4 for a dollar or the 10-piece combo. And I also noticed that the actual nuggets are WAY smaller than the ones we get up here in Canada. What gives?

Odd, because when I moved to Toronto from Houston, I noticed that the burgers were significantly smaller in size. I guess it depends on the demographic of the area you're in? For example, the McDonalds in Pakistan costs a hell of a lot more and the burgers are much larger... but then again, people there consider McDonalds and Burger King as almost being classified as fine dining...

 Is this the parallel of the Pakistani/Indian restaurants we have here?

I have to say Burger King is a lot better in Boston than they make in 30 miles west of here, in Marlboro.

McDonalds has extremely strict standards on cleanliness and quality control that are held internationally across the chain. Local restaurants there don't - other than the very high class ones that cost more than the $5USD per plate that McDonalds charges. It's crazy because a lot of the not so well off families there save places like Pizza Hut, KFC, and McDonalds for special occasions while most people here will eat fast food on a daily basis.

Thats gay, im from buffalo, i didnt know it was different in canada. I thought we had a 5 or 6 or somthing, we have a 20 too.

Even the size of the Super Size portions varies from country to country.

I'm a Burger King fan myself. You get much better value for money compared to McDonalds, and unlike McD's you actually get full at BK (well i do as i hardly eat anything anyway).

I like KFC also but it is too expensive most of the time.

McDonalds differs within a country. In Canada for example, there was a steak and egg bagel when I went to Calgary in 2001 (It was really nasty). And apparently, they even serve some sort of lobster sandwich in the maritimes! I can't confirm this though, seeing how I've never been there.

It definitely does not cost USD5 in india to have a value meal for example. Its more to the tune of USD2-3

Over here, its only around USD1.50-2 for a large(still smaller than USA supersize) value meal with burger drink and fries.

And McD's here sell fried chicken and porridge(rice not oats) too.

The size of the order you recieve depends on location. I drove one state away and was surprised how small the whopper was and it was more expensive!!! Just depends on location.

McDonalds in the USA:
well, my pos laptop isn't loading the url no matter what browser i use. I'll post the usa stats as soon as i get it working

👍
Wendys is the best. Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger for $1!
Burger King when I can't get Wendys, and McDonalds as a last resort. I never go to KFC.

If you can also show the soda's ...
sodas tend to be a standard purchase for anyone getting a hamburger and fries. Plus the nutritional info for the soda *should* be the same no matter where you go.

Anyways, my laptop is still being an arse for connecting to websites. If anyone else wants to grab the nutritional info off the McDonalds US site for comparisons purposes, that'd help :)

I think it's the website, not the laptop. But anyway, I wanted to know the soda because of the size and refills. Our medium is 0.4l now, and we don't get refills.

There you go: 345ml for a small in Canada, and a medium is 495ml. So our medium is a lot closer to your small than to your medium.

i remember pizza hut in belgium.

god DAMN that was some good stuff. it was like a top class restaraunt buffet thing. all the pizza you can eat.....mmmmmm. its was actually good pizza too, not that delivery USA pizzahut garbage.

wendys and burger king are the only 2 fast food places that are safe for me. all the other chains give me the runs, or at least upset my stomach some...especially KFC, the master of the grease bucket. gross.

wendy's burgers are ATROCIOUS though. horrible. i only like that place because of its chicken. now though, the chicken has declined significantly. they arent even good anymore. so screw wendy's....they can go stab themselves.

burger king on the other hand....i've always had consistantly good burgers there, and their fries rule. with their new chicken products...especially the tendercrisp sandwich, they blow wendys and mcdonalds out of the friggin water. the angus "steakburger" is damn good as well.

burgerking is the king of fast food.

....but mcdonalds has good deserts though. lol.

and speaking of these fast food things....has anyone seen those peta commercials, and that kentucky friend cruelty stuff? i need to dent peta's face because they almost made me puke...totally inappropriate for television.....if people are so interested in saving animals and stuff, then they will find their way to the website. no need to broadcast cows getting slaughtered with blood shooting out of their eyeballs.

I'll take Wendy's over McDonalds any day !
Thanks guys, but this thread has NOTHING to do with your fast food preferences; it's about McDonald's serving sizes and how they differ from one country to the next. If you'd like to tell the rest of GTP where you like to eat fast food, there are several threads in the Rumble Strip where you can do so.
