A well tuned, fully modified McLaren f1 is an incredible car, but which cars can it really be compared to?

The best place to start would be by comparing PP. What PP does it have fully tuned? Mine is stock.

I'm not online in GT... That's why I ask

It would probably compare with other tuned supercars (Enzo, LP670 SV, R8) and lower power race cars, would be my guess.

Or you do a race with the same PP/BHP limit race!

Be advised that the F1 is quite light compared to its competitors, so it has a high power:weight ratio. I would imagine a fully modified F1 (includes weight reductions, right?) will make it even lighter.

I was just trying to give a broad range of examples, I'm not extremely familiar with the F1. I was a lot more comfortable with my PP idea :).

I understand. I'm just attaching a little note to your post, as it is the lightest compared to its competitors ;)

Dude do it Top Gear style and do drag race with a load of other supercars!
If that don't work,do a race or a time trail with each supercar to see which is best!

It slaughters the Citroën GT cars at le sarthe, and beats LMPs there as well. It keeps up with veyron in straights, even Mulsanne (with chicanes), turns better too. It is ok in turning, better than other über-cars like TVR speed 12 and Enzo. But not quite like Citroën GT, furai, or 458.

Its acceleration rivals the Veyron, 600hp, and only like 1000kg. Its just fast if you can tame its oversteer.

Tuned, over 800hp and under 1000kg, good df and I tune for instability and counter tail-happiness with light aids.

Hi, My McLaren F1 '94 from thr NCD, fully tuned is 879Hp. @ 970 Kg. which gives it nearly a power to weight ratio of !Hp. per Kg. That's pretty good for most cars in the game. However the front wing is not adjustable but you can compensate for that with suspension adjustments and ABS. If you run across the McLaren F1 GTR race car '97 (BMW) from the UCD get it. Tuned it's 778Hp. @ 950Kg. You may think with less Hp it won't be as good but it handles like a dream.

Except for the fact that the ass steps out if you're on the loud pedal too quick. But that seems to be standard for a lot of cars around that pp/hp range.

There's not many duger cars, if any that can compared to the F1. Also its other family members.

If you buy a book called Driving Ambition, it will tell you all about the car, right back to when the designer was still in college. Dreaming of the perfect drivers car and already starting to design it then. The book has pictures of his original designs that he had drawn at that time.

One little spoiler from the book...

I don't know if this is on the internet anywhere, but the F1 was originally designed to have a 500 horse power engine, preferably from honda. But BMW eventually came through with what it has now.

The weight of the car overall was 100kg heavier than they planned.

The F1 is like several evolutions of a car which could be seen as similar. For example one of the gt500 nsx.

Honestly, just get the book!

Fully tuned the F1 gets 883bhp, 970kg and 676PP. Add to that the fact that it gets 20/65 downforce max and you're looking at about (stock) Furai Concept level, Vertigo Race Car, Esperante GTR-1, Zonda R, maybe even R10 TDI level. I managed to win the Real Circuit Tours race on the Nurburgring with one, and it only had 800bhp, not 883, so it can definitely compete against (AI) LMPs and Group C's, even without a full mod.

With a mishap at arnage (spinout + crash) time on le sarthe is... 3 minutes... Thirty.... 8.6

It can be compared to LMP2 class cars (the only one of that class in GT5 is Mazda Furai) when fully tuned.

I don't like fully tuning a F1, it ruins it.
However, if you tune it to LM or GTR specs it'll be even more amazing.

I have about 15 F1s, 1 is fully tuned and I don't like it, 2 are LM replicas and the rest are stock.
Stock F1 is the best in my oppinion.

They never ran the TGTT on the real show, but I think it'd beat or rival the top 2 or 3 cars just stock. Tuned... I don't think you need to tune it, it's one of the cars that you don't have to tune, IMO it's perfect just out of the box.

I thought it pretty slow fully tuned compared to others?

Both Speed 12 and Veyron do turn and are faster than McLaren F1.
Don't say that just because you can't drive them.

Oh, I guess you're one of those guys who only drive fully tuned cars on racing softs (and then they come to say that a car is bad).
Just to tell you, Veyron is one of the best handleing cars in the game.
I've tested almost every supercar in GT5 here (stock, on sports tires):
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=220109 and the leaderboard speaks for itself.
Veyron has 5 seconds lead on the F1, 5 seconds! On a track which has 71 corners, can't steer? I wouldn't say so...
Feel free to take a look and then speak how cars handle.

Wow 15! I have 4. Nice to son another mclaren fan. Weird thought, I also the 599gt, it's lovely.

F1 is amazing, my favourite car.
But I'm starting to notice the thing Jeremy Clarkson said ages ago when he tested it, it feels...too perfect.
Too perfect it is...still my #1 car ever. Too bad that the other McLarens are junk.

Driving a veyron on Monaco is Really annoying, it is a 2 ton weight that has a really bad understeer. My Lamborghini ****ach runs better lap times on that track.

Many say that the Lancia stratos is hard to handle but it is an amazing car to use and handles like a dream, I know how to control hard to control cars but the veyron just doesn't turn very quickly, it is stable though... Just too stable

Nothing can keep pace with the F1....IT....IS....GODLY!:sly: Beats the Veyron in the corners, can keep up in the straights, so F1 > Any other supercar > normal cars > hybrids > Prius > Veyron. 👍

And that's why a Veyron is 5 seconds faster than F1 on a track with 71 corners... :sss

Thats without aero! with df, SLIGHT engine upgrades, and a little bit less weight, it is almost to the SS's time and the SS is pretty close to maxed out with over 1200hp and SIGNIFICANT weight reduction. The track that you are mentioning isn't that technical, with 2 really long straights and 2 sets of high speed esses making up a major part of the corner count. It is somewhere between Nurburgring nordshlief and le sarthe when it comes to speed and cornering, meaning that the track will favor the veyron slightly... I always test on 3 tracks: le sarthe, Nurburgring, and Monaco.

*cough* A Veyron only did a 7:40 around the Nurburgring...*cough* while a Skyline did a 7:38...*cough*...and a McLaren doesn't need 2 turbos and 2 V8s to reach 200mph...*cough*....and the Veyron looks like an egg...*cough*...and weighs as much as a boat...*cough**cough* *gag* *choke* *cough* *dies.* :dunce:
