I have been looking for weeks and cannot find it.

Is there even one in the game, sure I seen it?

Post pic if there is please!

The McLaren F1 GTR Race Car (also know as the "Longtail"). Very hard to handle, but a fun car and a great buy. Images for all cars can be found in the Master Car List stickied in the GT5 forum 👍.

Listed as BMW because of it's engine and the fact the car ingame wears the Fina BMW Motorsports livery (shame they didn't do the Gulf/Davidoff one too).

As for how it drives? Stock it's an absolute animal, carves up corners like a LMP or Group C. Tune it a bit and it should win Le Mans and Nurb 24 Hour enduros :dopey:

A complete monster. Eats through corners like breakfast :dopey: And the McLaren F1 GTR popped up in my UCD yesterday, but prior to that, it didn't pop up in over 30-60 days.

A lot of grip, shame it feels nothing like the road version.

Bit of a reason for that....namely the amount of downforce it can generate, the racing setup of the suspension, the amount of weight it's lacking compared to the road car, etc, etc....

Not to mention the fact that the road going F1 was implemented with the new physics and Premium details.

I'm pretty sure the physics are the same for Standards and Premiums, I sure can't tell a difference.

There isn't any physics difference between Premiums and Standards. The McLaren F1 Race Car has racing modifications, so it's obvious it doesn't have any similarities to its road-going companion.

this car is FAST

it took like 2 weeks to get it to pop up in my UCD, bought it, and after that ive seen it like 2-3 times now.. bs

but yeah, definitely make use of the power limiter, because this thing fully maxed is a HANDFUL!! handles amazingly, but, GOBS of power everywhere!

Although it may not have that many cars in the same class it's in, it's still worth the cash, and buy it as soon as you see it sitting in the UCD. you wont regret it. :)

Ive been looking for this car since I bought the game.
Story: I dont like turning my PS3 on when its above 75deg in my house. My +90% complete GT5 game is on that PS3. So, I started a NEW game on my PS3 upstairs because its air conditioned up there. First time I go to buy my starter car, the Mclaren F1 GTR RC was in there....SOB!!!! Of course, didnt have the $ for it.

You can get a Mclaren race car from a level 17 ticket, not sure if it's the same one.

The F1 GTR here is actually pretty fast, and I like the sound.

In case you're wondering about the other version, there's a pic here. ;)

Weirdly enough the McF1 GTR actually beat a 905 in my Nurb 24h race. It goes off its tyres less but it is slower than all the LMPs, though it could run an R10 close stock and certainly a CLK-LM.

There's no difference between the wheelbase of the F1 (1993-1998 F1, 1995/1996 F1 GTR, 1995 F1 LM) and F1 'Longtail' (1997 F1 GT, 1997 F1 GTR) it's just the bodywork has been extended to increase the downforce generated.

The cars in this game that the F1 GTR would go up against would be just the Nissan R390 GT1, CLK-LM and Panoz GTR-1 (no doubt more). Other than that I'm not too sure what else from the time period is in the game...
