Hey guys so I decided tonight that I would try and find what I thought the best car in the game is. So far I have a Gumpert Apollo and a McLaren F1. I have also tried the Koenigsegg CCX but I didnt like it and sold it to get the cash for the F1 These are my thoughts so far:

Test track: Road America. I chose this track because of the heavy braking and accelerating as well as the strains put in the car in the high speed long corners such of turn 7 (Carousel). Both of the cars are works converted.

Gumpert Apollo
Time: 1:52.775
I like this car a lot. It brakes, turns and accelerates extremely well. Best car I have driven so far. It does lack top speed however, I can only get it up to the 280kph region. This car does stop extremely well, easily being able to slip up the inside of at least three cars at a time.

McLaren F1
Time: 1:53.419
This car I feel has a lot of potential. It has great acceleration and a top speed of around 320kph. This car - according to the tuning menu - puts out a lot more down force than the Gumpert, at 24 instead of 19. Which I find hard to believe as I think that the Gumpert handles high speed curves like the Carousel and the fast right after it. This car does not turn in anywhere near as well as I would like it to. I feel that this is the major area where this car lacks, as well as under braking, although these two problems may be related. I think this car should be faster than the Gumpert but I just cant get it stopped and turned in as well as the Gumpert.

So my questions to you all are; What other cars could you recommend to go on this list, other than the CCX? What can I change on the F1 to make it stop and turn in better? Can you try and beat my times around the track using the cars?

PM me if you want either of my tunes.

Bugatti Veyron, naturally.
1001hp + adding more downforce & lightweight parts = one mean time attack machine.

I'd also recommend the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 (Works converted of course)

This is my favorite car in-game so far and I consider it a "Giant Killer". Just like your F1, this car has a lot of potential waiting to be tapped via a solid tune (per track). The car's willing to turn, but will also bite you back if you don't treat it properly.
The fastest time I've got with it (around Road America) is 1:53.650 WITH some minor errors.

I tried the Veyron, admittedly it was the stock version and it was on Ambush Canyon. Any time I drive that track I hate it.

Im interested of your thoughts on the works though.

I don't have enough money yet to buy it  , sorry.

Interesting. I have a Murcielago, but I had kept it a class B so that I could race on autolog with it. I may have to switch it back with my R34 which I work'd.

Try the Murcielago out, you may like it, but you also may not. It is admittedly, a little twitchy. :guilty:

Ill do it tomorrow when I get some more money. 2.2m is a lot to spend on one car :ouch:

My instinctive nature recommends the F1....

if this was a HP3 Discussion, i'd drive the CCX and demote the Bugatti.

This is also where my anti Bugatti bias comes from. In every game the car is horrible.

RomKnight, Ive heard good things about that car too. You should try the Gumpert, its a great beast that loves to be tamed.

Not sure I agree with this... but i'm biased :D Are you using a pad? With a wheel its very good. Actually the gallardo is equally good (and I love the sound of it :D)

This perception, of course, may be due to my "driving style". Some cars suits us better than others.

Veyron its not my style either and I will try the Gumpert. Sounds like the 918 :D

Yeah, DS3, it makes the murcielago very twitchy and the steering delay doesn't help any.

Ah, how I wish i could afford a good wheel...

Have not tried the F1 yet but the Gumpert is a beast, I like it a lot. I have only driven the Bugatti on Ambush Canyon, which is a terrible track, and didn't really like. It drove like I expect the Bugatti to drive, heavy and not very exciting or fun...

The Bugatti is a strange car in that it goes like stink but it seems so undramatic trying to get there.
Anyone going to challenge my times?

I'm not a good driver.. ok I suck pretty bad.. yet I did some times under 1:51 in a work Bugatti... best time in F1? 1:55:303 :(

Coincidentally I bought the Gumpert yesterday and have been messing around with it. It is an insanely cool machine. The braking! Wow!
