McLaren MP4-27 launch

She's pretty - no stepped nose, as near as I can tell.

Yeap, no stepped nose but this one has a really steep-dropping nose...

The launch car may be in silver but the real one might be a different livery as has been in talk.

What's that piece of bodywork on the edge of the sidepod toward the back?

Do the sidepods drop towards the back? New regulation? or is the shinyness playing with my eyes? :dunce:

Hmm... Stream on Mclaren website shows maybe 3 seconds worth of footage every thirty seconds, but advert plays without a hitch. 👎

There hasn't been any real talk of that. The liveries I posted early in this thread were jsut fan concepts.

I see.. Thought they really were considering on changing their livery. :dunce:

The nose in the picture you provided looks normal, but from the side in the launch coverage it looks really steep. I'll reserve that until I see more.

Looks normal to me.
Seems that they ditch L sidepod.
Is just me or the engine cover looks sharp?

NINJAEDIT:

The nose section seems interesting down below.

Sidepods look interesting, the car as a whole looks like Betty been at McDonald's...

Looks like last year's car put on weight over the Christmas break.

That bulge on the side is being covered by the drivers to the live stream, looks like something they don't want the world to see.

Quite a low key launch. I preferred last year's with the parts of the car being brought in and assembled by the public.

You can't really see it in this photo, but the car looks like it has a very bizarre nose. It appears that there is a piece of bodywork extended back from the centre of the front wing to some point under the safety cell.

The nose looks much more convexed than I thought it would be.

It's definitely no mallard.

Sorry for the oversized image, but really that thing under the nose is very interesting!

Whatever it is it looks like it is channeling air to the floor of the car, and probably back to the diffuser, I don't know how legal that will be...
