Ok, so it is confirmed then? Unlike everyone who seems to still think mechanical damage is non-existent yet...well, it most certainly is! And I don't see how all these GT players and lovers can talk so much crap about it anyway!

#1. At least GT finally has damage!
#2. BE THANKFUL
#3. ENOUGH SAID.

I do recall someone saying they smashed 1 door off a car and then it was slow and pulled, but when they smashed the second door off it went straight and fast again...

At best this seems like some kind of aerodynamic/weight distribution punishment and not mechanical damage in the normal sense of the term.

I was using my ferrari online and after about 10 minutes of the whole room crashing into each other at high speeds, my car couldn't drive straight anymore.

if i crash at more than 60mph i turn off the ps3 and dont play again for an hour , that my own damage system way more accurate.

I think what you had experienced is just the tyres wearing out. I noticed my cars also do that after lots of wear.

There isn't any mechanical damage yet. From what it sounds like you had the doors flying around so I bet your tyres were pretty bad.

fail. no it doesnt (not realistic or effective in any way). We are thankful GT6 is closer to release now to get over this severe dissappointment. And thank goodness youve decided to stop preaching something that isnt true. If it is then your calling the games creator a liar. your just in denial, just realize it-the game is unfinished and the damage system was half-done. Kaz stated in an interview anyhow that he wasnt interested in damage even when they took the two months to put it in. look up his interview with Joystiq. 👎👎👎

If you crashed at 60mph or more you probably won't be playing for a long long time.

i tried this myself a couple days ago and i can confirm everything the op has just said. i think it's pretty strange though. i noticed that it would steer to the left or right uncontrollably and that it was limited to about 89mph. i crashed again then it wasn't limited anymore.. couple crashes later it was. i actually can't remeber if the doors were gone or not actually

How does your damage system work for lower speed impacts? Do you just go to the circuit breaker and try to make some brownouts? :D

Exactly what I was thinking.

Oh there is damage even if you can't really see it. Crashed my Veyron at about 220 mph at mulsanne (braked a little late on no chicane after getting it to a 260+). Front end looked a little out of alignment so I checked it out after the race and a chasis rebuild was $500K.

Could be. GT2 had steering damage. Maybe Yamauchi San will include engine/transmision/brake damage as well. About the car doing only 90, although in my country we use metric system, I guess that´s close to 160-180 KPH. WRC cars usually reach a maximum of around 180-200 KPH, so I think that´s normal.

90 mph is no where near top speed for a WRC car...no tuning at all I can hit 160 mph so yeah with that being said, I would say 90 mph is slow in comparison.

You sir, are an idiot and obviously don't like GT5 for some reason so go somewhere else with that BS! If the game was such a "dissapointment" to you, then why didn't you design it retard.

I... don't... even....

Seriously? You guys have gone way beyond just a simple topic. Never once have I called ANYONE a liar. I was simply trying to explain my experience with mechanical damage, but if you guys want to be pricks about it then make my day.

Uneven worn tires will cause the car to drift to the side with worse off tires, this has happened to me many times in endurance races where I am sucking every last drop out of the tires before changing and start sliding a bit.

Yes there is mechanical damage in some ARCADE cars and definitely in 2 player,My son (5 years old) and I were racing and he was using the F40 and after his driving...:sly: he would crash come to a stop it would take a few seconds to kick in accelerate real slow, also using the WRC cars he also had it so beat up it wouldn't go past 4th gear. His top speed was like 90MPH.
I have not seen any of this in GTMODE.

Something is wrong with any of the damage if we are having problems even replicating physical body and mechanical damage.

Did you guys not read the NEWS. Update 1.03 give the online mode DAMAGE! Mechanical Damage that is. Now run along and go play.

hey guys, not sure if this has been said before, but in Top gear magazine December issue, there's a piece on GT5 and the involvment of the track etc. The guy who wrote the article had a go in a Ferrari on the top gear test track, well this is what he wrote " Flat out into the follow through, the Merc SLS begins to slide left. As i flail at the wheel, I catch a glimpse of something very red and very fast in my left hand mirror. It is closing at speed. Before I can say " oh my goodness a ferrari 458 is about to hit me square on, a ferrari 458 hits me square on. There is a sickening crunch of metal and glass and possibly bone. Unidentified pieces of car spray across the tarmac. Kazunori Yamauchi, sitting alongside me, laughs. " Big Crashes ! " he cheers. " All the time! ". Someone please enlighten me ?

Probably 3 parts exageration and 2 parts stuff that was ultimatley left out of the game at release.
