A great suggestion worthy of inclusion in any racing game, but I would suggest deleting Limousine from the title as the correct model name is 300SE Sedan. This also avoids confusion with the Lang (Long Wheelbase) model produced from 1963-65.

I've added this post because this model is an early 1960's racing icon and therefore deserves many more votes.

Although Mercedes withdrew from Grand Prix racing in 1955 following the catastrophe at Le Mans, they continued to race and rally their saloon models. The 300SE took the overall win in the 1963 Acropolis Rally driven by Eugen Bohringer and Rolf Knoll. The inaugural ETCC was held in 1963 and Mercedes entered a works team. The cars were tweaked from 160 to 195bhp and weight was reduced to 1450kg. Power of the M189 three litre straight six with Bosch fuel injection was fed though a ZF 5 speed box (an option on the road car which as standard had an auto). In 1963 the ETCC was won by peter Nocker driving a Jaguar Mark 2 3.8 litre saloon, but the 300SE was competitive and set the fastest lap at the Nordschleife.

For 1964 Mercedes increased power of the road model to 170bhp and the works ETCC race cars were further developed to produce 210bhp.

This would be a great car for the game, especially if PD could also include the rivals to the 300SE - the Jaguar Mark 2, Ford Galaxie 7 litre (BSCC winner 1963), Mini Cooper S (ETCC winner 1964) and Ford Cortina Lotus (BSCC winner 1964, ETCC winner 1965).

Below a short clip of the 1962 Brands Hatch Six Hours which includes a brief shot of the 300SE, but mainly features the then dominant Jaguar Mark 2:
