...I'm surprised no one posted, but I'll do it anyway...

Current news only talks about the engine/model line, predictably following in the CL350, CL500/550, CL600, CL55/63, CL65 standards set by it's siblings...

...Pretty, I really do like it! Much, much better than the 6-series. Now if Mercedes could offer us a manual, it would be damn-near perfect!

I never liked the C Pillars on CL's.

The front shot is nice, but I can't help thinking the new SLK hood bulge wouldn't look out of place.

hmmm never really liked the old CL. the new one is better but still not too great IMO.

i just think that CL's are for rich old people :indiff: and who would want a manual CL? it was never meant to be sporty.

...I think I'm more interested to see how the CLK version will look...

Good god this thing is ugly all the way around. I seriously don't like it...give me the previous gen SL/CL please.

I guess it's only me, but it looks like a CLS front mixed with a S-Class rear, and turned into a coupe.

I quite like the looks of this car.

However, I wonder how big that front badge is in real life? Is there some kind of competition on how large you can make your emblems??

Doesn't look bad at all - just can't see the point of it now we have the CLS, unless you really, really want a large Merc with only two doors?!?

This is the fist Mercedes Benz I've seen in ages that I've actually liked rather than thought was average or too samey.

I just noticed that the rear windows can also retract, IMO that is really cool.

The lines on this car just seem so...i dunno...sexy. They flow together very nicely, I especially like the crease fold on the sides. The only thing that turns me off (oh so slight) is the bulbous top of the nose and grille, other than that it seems to be an outstanding design.

I would deffinately choose this over the CLS, the lines on the CLS and the squinty windows dont appeal to me. I dunno, its just something about that car that I dont like; can't put my finger on it.

Great continuation of the S-class and cls. I like it how MB has decided to stop chasing BMW slaes with sportier lookin models and just concentrating on class and elegance like they used to. Great job.

There's something very cat-like about it. I like it a lot.

But it seems that they took the pics of it at the same place that Jag took shots of the new XK.

Agreed...though I think this may grow on me...at least better than the M6 has.

Oh dear Mercedes, what have you done. That thing is just plain ugly give me the previous generation CL anytime, now that was a sexy car.

And the SL looked even better than the CL! By FAR the best looking Merc in the last 50 years was the SL65 AMG in my eyes. Like BMW the designs are going downhill fast...thank got VAG hasn't screwed up Audi and they are infact getting BETTER looking. 👍

That styling is incredibly bland. The last CL wasn't particularily inspired, either. For people with more money than taste, I guess.

I'd assume that the style would grow on you. I didn't care much for the previous SL, CL, and CLK models when they were first introduced, but by today, I love them...

Give them time, your opinion may change.

Like the new S, I think the new CL is a step backward from the old one in terms of styling, but it doesn't seem as hideous as the S to my eye. The front almost reminds me of the gorgeous W126 coupe, which is a very good thing.

In my eyes, it looks professional and attractive. Well styled, and classy, but somehow rather un-Mercedes-like. I particularly like the side shots of the car, it accentuates the 'big coupe' feel. This is the first use of their new 'corporate look' that I actually like.

Now, let's put a chassis in it that can actually deal with the power the car will no-doubt have by it's end of run, and it will be fine. I notice how much the hood line screws with the car's shape, and it saddens me inside how stupid the EU regulations are. Oh well. Still looks better than the CLS though, and is a better idea anyways. I'd take an SL over it in a heartbeat though.

I've never seen the point of a 2+2 coupe that long. It's like owning a modern-day '73 Cadillac Eldorado.

It's also a tad over-styled, in my opinion.
