The front is also taped up...my guess is they either wanted to hide the styling of the AMG-specific pieces or they wanted to hide the fact that the prototype pieces look like !@#$ and were fabricated from a combination of Bondo and sauerkraut! :lol:
 
...My vote still is that they wanted to go faster, ala NASCAR-spec 200-MPH tape!
