What Do You Like About The SLR.

I remember when the SLR was released and there was a poster of the car next to Gullwing SL300 and my thought at the time was how great the car looked. I'm not so enamored by its appearance as I prefer the SLS wider stance. Of course, between these two cars, the SLR has the more exotic look.

Here's a great video:

Don't like it. Leave it to Mercedes to make a carbon fiber supercar that weighs almost two tons, install a five speed slushbox and a yestertech SOHC three valve motor based off the ones in your run-of-the-mill E class, make it look like the Ambiguously Gay Duomobile, and then charge half a million dollars for it. Even Gordon Murray didn't like it and he designed the damned thing. The SLS AMG is a better car at less than half the price.

Like the front but hate the back. Overall I like it especially the engine noise

Huh, I'm the exact opposite. I love the back, but hate the nose. I've always thought the Silver Arrow is too pretentious that big. Too many car makers do it (Jaguar, Rolls Royce, etc). Ford, Ferrari, and Aston Martin don't do that and I hold them in higher esteem for it. Mercedes is a great car maker for luxury and pure racing, but I don't hold that same opinion for in between.

SLS is better but the SLR is a decent car and looks cool

I like it..

It's a civilized cruiser.

it's horrible on the ring, not bad for SSR7, you'd be surprised how good the CL600 AMG is though

If you can keep the tail in its a great car. Sport hard tires totaly stock its a challange but a worthy one none the less.

I like the car in its exterior appearance pretty much because it looks like as if the car was predetermined to be designed to have revolutionary traits going to be adopted in future successors which are intended to be like the SLR... However I don't prefer driving it that much since it has too much understeer, would be a little stressful to use on a winding track till you get used to the machine.

This car is nothing to WOW about

The slowest hypercar in the game, by far.
Great grip and grunt.

By far? I'm running consistent 1:04s at Rome with my 944hp version on RH tires with all assists off except for ABS (set to 1, it's a heavy car). Even with SM tires on that same car and a few adjustments, I'm still registering sub-1:10s. I've yet to hit 1:04 at Rome in any other road car other than the F1, SLS, Speed 12 and R390 GT1 Road Car...even on RS. It's all about how you tune it and drive it. By the way, the best I can muster around Rome in an Enzo on RS is 1:05.442, on a really good day and after having spent countless hours tuning the thing.

I'll concede that some people find it the slowest exotic in the game, but not by much. Besides, it's absolutely gorgeous.

RS, 944hp?
Run it stock and compare it with rivals, oh yeah - it's by far the slowest.

I don't run anything better than RH if I can help it, the SLR is tuned for RH or lower and gets understeery with better, can't be bothered to correct it. And, yeah, the SLR will be slower than its rivals because those rivals are substantially lighter and make better use of the power that they have (in some cases more, too). The SLR responds so well to modifications, though, particularly the '09.

If you tune it then im sure you can make it really fast. The actual car though isnt that quick considering its pedigree.

Im pretty sure you can stick racing softs and an afterburner on a shopping trolly and make it fast though...

I was never a fan of this car what with its stupidly high price (its German after all), 5-speed slushbox, and its appearance. However, The speed and the noise are plus points, but not enough for me. I'll take an SLS any day.

That's because Brits love to relive The War, lol.

Pathetic, Did you happen to look where the guy came from, No I thought not. New Zealand.

Mark, your profile pic proves that the eyes are indeed the windows to the soul...

It sucks. Drives like an overweight slob.

this. the hood view seems way too long and it handles pretty bad, it's only really a threat in a straight line maybe
