This is the car YSSMAN has been posting just recently and the one he claims to be epicness. I agree. Limited to 75 units, the car is expected to be unveiled at the end of this month.

It looks like McLaren and Mercedes are completing one last project before making their break-up official (we haven't read it on our Facebook feed yet). The Mercedes McLaren SLR Speedster was recently spotted testing at the Nurburgring, looking fine in its razzle dazzle camouflage, but, the Mercedes SLC is out there too, planning to make both the slow-selling SLR and the sexy R8 obsolete in one fell swoop. What we should expect from the SLR Speedster, as well as video of its 'ring run after the jump.

The McLaren SLR Speedster, scheduled for a July 30th debut, will be 440 lb lighter than the hardtop and be limited to just 75 units. Expect the blow-out special SLR Speedster to outperform the SLR with a near 220mph top speed, but also expect the SLC to blow that figure out of the water courtesy of an impossibly powerful supercharged engine. Video of the Speedster testing on the ring below.

Oh yes this is exactly what we need. Dream machines for the track enthusiast in all of us. The top marques just throwing all they've got into a pointless but still stupidly fast racecar. This is going back to the definition of racecar. It doesn't need any bells and whistles (like a roof - pfff), just a seat, stearing wheel, bigol' motor and some tires.

Truly impressive and I'm immensely glad for them.

Wow. Now that's some effective camoflague. I can hardly make out any lines or anything.

Looks... low and long.

Your face is safe, there's a lip infront of the cockpit which is there to deflect the wind over you. How do you think F1 drivers cope, the car is designed so that the drivers are safe from thoes kind of problems.

Presumably if you intended to go that fast you'd be wearing a helmet. Edit: ^That too.

This should be a pretty exciting car and I definitely want to see what Mercedes have up their sleeve for it.

so, no doubt, they'll be trying to get Jeremy Clarkson in it without one. ;)

I dunno, I'm not much of one for nasty breakups, But it will be incredibly fast...

My general feeling is that every car company that offers a roadster should offer a model like this... Or some kind of modification to make it this way. I just love the look of the car, even with all of the cammo draped over it. The performance will finally match the look, and that has me very excited.
