Methods to counter anger?

Do you know those tips to control anger?

I know anger is bad for you health and there some tips to counter it... like take a deep breath and count to 10 or make a fake laugh. I dont know.
 
Punch something and or toss something.

I have an old computer that has been to the bottom of our pool a few times.
 
If listening to metal doesnt help me, i usually punch a wall/headboard as hard as i can, if not multiple times until i get tired of it or my anger goes away.
 
Okay josh. What is it with you and AIM? You get on during some months, and your off others. Get on. :p
 
Just log onto GTP , post and reply to a bunch of threads like this one,and you'll forget about what was pizzing you off in no time at all.:lol:
 
For me, exercise and tantrums. I've got a noted short wick, so getting angry quickly means finding a way to release it. If you can't go for a run, then find somewhere quiet, where there's no-one around, and GO NUTS!!! Jump up and down!!! Fling those arms!!!

You'll feel much better.

I only get on to talk to girls... like Ashley.;) You're close enough to a girl, though, so I'll get on.:p Kidding.:D

Screw all that - if you really want to get rid of anger, go out and punch a tree or something, about 10 times. Guaranteed to get rid of anger, and hey, if you're hand is sore, it'll take your mind off the anger, won't it? ;)

If that doesn't work.. get a HUGE (and i mean, HUUUUGE) sledgehammer...
go to a nearby OLD tree.... SLAM AWAY!!!!!
that always works... excercise is a really good way to let out anger
 
a few things, go skating, go skating and throw things off the top of a 7 story parking garage, jump off the 7 story garage repelling down it, Work on the car, Play some billards. those are just a few
 
Wad your anger up into a tightly compacted little ball, then hide it far away in the deepest recesses of your psyche. Let it fester and ferment over time. Add to it regularly. You'll know you're doing it right when you develop a creepy twitch.

As weird as it may sound, I write poetry. It helps me because I can put my emotion onto the paper instead of taking it out on someone else.:)
 
As far as anger goes, I know a few good ways of controlling it. First, do something you know you're pretty good at (race a tough race in GT3 and win; fight someone who doesn't know how to fight...). This usually makes you feel so good that you won't be angry anymore.Second, beat the crap out of your bed/pillow. It usually works best if you have a wide pillow that can stand up on its own. Try practicing your wrestling techniques on it (whiffle bats are considdered lethal weapons by law, try that...). Third, Exercise. Practice a sport, uh, pull ups, sit ups, push ups, any strenuous physical activity will release your anger. Also, if you're a Christian, read the Bible or pray. I also find that screaming like a maniac into your pillow is very stress-reducing.

erm, that's what causes the heart disease and other things...
 
I usually work out like crazy when i'm really angry. Push-ups, sit-ups, that kinda stuff.

Sometimes i punch my closet, but i try not to do that anymore. It hurts my hand... and the closet.
 
Meditation, Breathing exercises, walk away, 5 minutes of solitude.

But Never, ever do what milefile says, or you end up like this.

Actually, having a cockatoo land in your lap while you're wearing shorts is what does that.
 
Also make sure to have a vivid mental image of one particular person in mind, and transfer all the anger onto that person, whether it's relevant or not. It's got to be his/her fault somehow.

I offer myself as an example.
