I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't find any information on the web. The problem I have been having is that if I jump onto the track (My private room, only one other person track daying) my mic get's very distorted to the point the other person can't understand a word I'm saying. I can still hear them perfectly clear no matter if they are on the track or not. If I jump back to the starting screen they can hear me clearly.

If it is a net issue my ping is currently 26, download 14.49Mbps and upload is 1.04Mbps. I've never had issues with speed spikes or issues on other games. Only GT and only when I jump on track.

By any chance are you connected online, wireless? This is normally a case when you are using wireless internet and a wireless mic. They both use the same band and cause issues with each other, so the best bet is to look for a wired mic or wired internet connection.

If you are in fact, wired, the room host probably has a really high mic setting and could be causing issues.

I'm wired and I am usually the host, my friend I tune with is wireless and in a small town but with that being said I can hear him perfectly clear no matter the occasion. As of right now I have to jump off the track to give a few pointers or answer how the car is responding to minor tweeks. Other than that I have to pause and type, which was horrible when I had no mic but even worse when I am using one.

To add more, there is no lag in the room and I have been able to host and join online rooms with no issues. A long time ago I used to get the issue where people wouldn't be able to hear me for up to 10 minutes at a time, completely mute but I can hear them clear. Now it seems to be returning but only on track and not silent but distortion in it's place.

Only other conclusion is that your mic is going. Try another mic and see if it works. If it's not a connection issues, which you don't seem to be having, it's most likely a defective (or old) mic! Good luck!

I have an official PS one (the newer version) and a mid level Motorola, they both work perfectly on all games but here and only on track. It really has me very perplexed as it can get very annoying as it doesn't happen every time, so when it does (about 66% of the time) it's a huge *sigh guess we're doing this again today.
