A short while ago Microsoft unveiled Flight Simulator X (10) at CES, they say it will be optimized for the upcoming Vista operating system and will use new DirectX 10 features. Here is a link with many screen shots and a Q&A down the bottom with info on the upcoming game.

MS Flight Simulator is due Q4 2006. I am really into simulator type games and I really enjoy flightsims, so I'm really looking forward to this one.

EDIT Big E3 updates post #27 onwards! (I have put many of the updates in the first post now)

I honestly don't expect the final product of DX10 to look that good ingame.

Some other news is news/rumours:

*Rumour has it that the Bombardier Global Express will feature in FSX (aswell as the learjet 45) http://www.fs2004.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=77785

 Some of the screen shots were just downright amazing! One of the choppers had a paint scheme of Hughes from one of my favorite TV Show, "Magnum P.I.".

When i play these games i always go as fast as possible and see if i can get the biggest planes to do loop de loop's

Seems like a great game 👍

What excatly do you do in it? as in story or career mode?

What excatly do you do in it? as in story or career mode?

As for FS2004 (flight sim 9) you can fly anywhere you want, check out famous landmarks, fly virtual airlines, there was some career type missions but not many.

What Ive read is Flightsim X will have more mission based tasks available so people that cant make their own flights and get bored easy have something to do or work for.

Man my puter would kick the **** out of this simulator but I'm not much for flying. :indiff: I think I have IL:2 or whatever that wwII fighter game is too.

D00D can you land the helicopter on the boats? Damn I hope so that would be cool. The scenery looks amazing, looking forward for more screenshots, just a shame that my computer won't play it.

VIPFREAK
 my puter can run this game and it would look really good. sorry. :D

Um this game is using technology that isnt out yet (DX10, Windows Vista)

If your just talking about general visuals, my computer would look really good too. sorry .

But this thread is not supposed to be about system bragging.

MdnIte
I see helicopters. I'm interested :)

Yeah Helicopters are in MS Flight Simulator 2004 also.

Yeah I think you can, If you cant officially doesn't matter land on it anyway :D

Yeah I will be getting it on release day also like I did with FS2004.

Never really brought a flight sim game, but I may buy this one. Also don't you just love how they use so many different photos, and maps to make 3D Maps. Which are used in game.

Kick ass!!!

They finally got the landscape with real buildings and not flat stuff.

And the rain effects and graphics are beautiful!
Count me in!

I'll be sure to get back to practicing my 737 skills.:dopey:

I am hoping Airbus aircraft will be included, but I doubt it.

Flame-returns
As did I, and 2002, and 2000.

Great, I got Flight sim 95 but didn't have a proper flight stick until much later (Wanted to fly but didn't want to spend the money at the time).

Are you talking about Airbus? or the paticular Airbus A380? Airbus have alot of planes besides the double decker.

The Double decker... it's delayed and people are getting irritated by that. They'd regret if if they actually got it now and the wings fell off. :dopey: While it's an engineering feat I don't think it's a wise idea. "The bigger they are the harder they fall". :scared:
