code_kev. I'm usually not a huge fan of Famine's comments. But in this case I believe he's right. As far as the damage thing goes anyway. I mean when a car scrapes a wall at 100+ mph, it's toast, unless we're talking nascar or something. But the vast majority of cars on their list would nearly disintegrate.

As far as the sound thing goes....I can't comment as I haven't heard any version other then vids.

No, I'm one of those people with ears. Example, you hear a song you like on an £800 harmon kardon system, you then hear it on a £20 matsui system, you can still tell it's the same song. OK so one sounds glorious, and the other sounds crap, but you can still tell. Don't bother lecturing me on sound quality please. I beg you.

And swift, ffs, read what I said.

Where did I disagree with that?

Thanks for the resounding vote of confidence there, Swift

code_kev - A car in the real world sounds NOTHING like it does on the television. Thinking you know what a car sounds like because you're heard one in a video - then comparing it to a poor, compressed recording for the internet in which the sound signal has degenerated to the point that it's effectively noise alone - is a rather shaky foothold.

That's true, but you still get an idea of what it sounds like, and the GT ones tend to be abit..off, but hey, when I get Gt4 (when it comes out in 2050), I guess I'll get to find out if GT4 follows this pattern for myself. As an owner of Gt4, can you honestly tell me that the cars sound real then?

Well, you know we've got history Famine. But when you're right, you're right.

(100% unrelated to the previous coments) " Gameplay over graphics" Thats BS. The graphics are not everything but they should be great. Enthusias cars have less polygons yet that games's "cars" looks better. Near the end of this generation of console games and their $50 price the graphics better be good if the game is supossed to be high profile and earns the XXX "killer" tag Enthusia could have better graphics than GT4 but that doesnt mean it will be a better game overall. Same goes for Forza. Do you think the producers are saying "lets focus on the gameplay a be lazy on the graphics"?

About the list. it looks ok but less cars would do the game the same justice. (no Moby dick :()

Famine
The "damage" sounds singularly uninteresting to me. I quote:

"When gamers scrape the wall at more than 100 mph, the resulting damage will accurately affect the both the look and performance of their car – just like in real life."

If you scrape the wall at more than 100mph in real life, it's unlikely there will be enough left of your car to have the look and performance affected...

"Unprecedented Fleet" my arse.
   Now that I think about your post you really dont need damage in GT4 or any other game to make it more realistic becuase it just wont be the same! But then again if they went to the extent where as if you are going 65 MPH and scrap another car then have like your hood fly off It would be kinda cool to have but all in all you dont really need damage! Wow I cant believe I never thought about this.

cobragt
fam, how does gt4's cars sound to you? honest opinion

I haven't heard enough of the cars in real life that I've driven in GT4 to form a basis for a comparison.

The Ford Ka sounds right though.
