Recently I found one of my replays from nearly 14 months ago. It was my best run at Midfield in a Fully loaded 787B.

I took about an hour and a half tonight, and gave it another run. I easily slipped by my previous mark and down into the 55 second range.

A fast clean lap of 55.578 seconds was my best. I'll upload a replay if needed.

I remember a Midfield Rotary race once before :D good idea :D

Im in... gonna do a run right quick, back in a few. :D

[Edit]
Ok, just ran... came down with a 56.7 pretty quickly. Probably took about 12 tries, but Im not sure that a 55 is gonna be coming down for me.

I figure I could do it with some time and effort, but right now I just don't feel like giving either.

Good run though alta, real nice.... Do I hear the starts of an instant race setup? Don't know, but with your 55 you might do quite well. ;)
Later.
[/Edit]

I wish I was :(

Welll.. Speculation at the moment says 54 second range for Kent.

AO

lol alta, what are you thinking... Thanks for the vote of confidence...

Since it was such a nice vote, Im gonna go back and take another run. Any suggestions setup wise? Or track wise?

Will be back again shortly. :D

Kent, are you saying you didn't manage a 54 second run? If so, give these settings a try. (yes, they're a bit odd).

6.0/16.0
85/85
8/8 10/10
1.5/3.0 (camber)
1.0/0.0 (toe)
4/4

15/15

24/46/5
FD = 2.959 (used tranny trick)

1.00/1.25
ASM = 0; TCS = 4.

Yep, odd. But they work. These were cribbed from Mr. P's replay from ages ago, and have been slightly modified.

AO

those look like the settings right off Mr. P's R390 we did for the Qualifier from the BvB. . . Very effective settings from my memory.

Well, they did come from him originally. Except he ran 115/85 for ride height (Yes, front way higher than rear). He also ran 5/20/5 on the LSD and TCS =3. I had to give the TCS a bit of a bump as I was getting a bit too much spin out of the hairpin.

AO

Alright, sounds cool. Will run them now.

Just got done with another quick session and pulled a 55.605, so I might get down to 54 soon.

Just gonna try these settings and see what happens. Back soon after that.

:edit:
Yeah, just put in my final sober run for the night... got those settings in, played with them just a bit, ran a few.

Didnt make much progress on fast lap, but consistant 55's is now the norm... on the note of fast lap progress. :D

Said to myself, this is the last lap. Literally on that lap, pulled a 54.999.

So that was nice.

I will be looking forward to running this some more. Thanks for bringing it up alta, and thanks for the help too.
later.

I ran this combo for the BC#3 except it was a 5 lapper. But in free run practice useing rons setup, i got a 53.810 (i think) but may of been a really slight touch at the first corner. I did get a few more 53's in a race but never again in a free run lap. I'll upload the replay.

And as I figured, The Rotaries day at midifeld thread was last posted in almost a year ago. Which means I've gained speed since then. it also means, that so has every one else. I'd say Zer0h chipping nearly a full 2 tenths off Flinx time would set a few of the old racers back to running this.

Well done Zer0h. I'd try to clean that spot up a bit and send it over to racing-line. That time puts you as the second fastest 787B on Midfield, and just outside the top 20 for MR cars.

One of these days, I'm going to get ahold of a PAL system just so I can watch a few replays.

AO

Hi guys

The 787 set up in question, I originally borrowed it from a Flinx replay in a 787! tweeked it a bit and used the same set up on the 787, R390 and GTone and the GT40 ..

.. all those cars will accomodate that set up nicely with very minor tweeks for each car 👍

Good Luck .

maybe someday I'll go back and see if I can get a seat with Zer0h in the 53 club :p 👍

I spent enough time at that combo for a long time :) Mabe in the future if another challenge with the combo came up id race but not just to clean up one minor touch.

Just don't go getting into the 52's ;)

Best I managed was a 0'55.833. After a while I was suprised I reached that. I'm not a big fan of how the super cars handle. They're awsome to drive, and with a bit of practice I know you can get scortching lap times. The problem I have with them is they're a far stones throw away from normal cars. I just like the normal cars a bit better.

Insane times you guys are pullin'. 👍

cool Rotars :)
I really cant be bothered running the 787B, but i have been playing GTC.
Heres something, not the 787B but still fun.

It would be cool if a bunch of people could turn in times for a bunch of the different rotary cars in different configurations (fully loaded or stock arcade ... etc). I'd be willing to put together a database for it.

Ok......... I'm happy with the time I was able to come up with thanks to some nice settings. 55.955. I hit the 55 and I feel good about it lol.

I think I might roll around a few stock rotaries and throw some times your way LoudMusic.

I would be glad to keep record of rotary times if we think this could be a big thing? Or if others want to take it, thats fine.

I pulled a 1'28.021 on Midfield in a stock with oil change, 213hp, Mazda RX-7 Inifini III.
Just to throw out there, same car and horsepower, on Laguna Seca, 1'39.372.

sounds like a great idea :)

Hi guys !

im a french gt3 driver from gtplay.com and I've seen your website address on gtweb board.

Sorry for my english if he's bad:lol:

well let's see... hum a 787b on midfield that's it, ok I try tonight and I will communicate my time at this page "demain" (tomorrow?)

If you need evidance for my time i can sent all my sectors ( you know what i mean, the analyser).

Spark: Your english is actually really good. Much better than some of our American members who speak English (or something similar ...) as their primary language.

As for me, how many laps can one man endure of the 787B on Midfield! I've just completed 14 laps and my best time in the Arcade 787B was 1:02.399. I bet I can get it unde 1:01, or even a sub 1:00. Man that'd take a lot of work.

Der Alta - you should edit your first post like Rypen did in the old thread to include everyone's times. According to the old list (which I feel should not be included as those members aren't even all active anymore) I'd be 11th in the Arcade 787B with a time of ...

1:02.399 - Arcade 787B

Not bad, but not great either. I'm going to keep working on it.

I hate to be following my own posts, but I just got it down to a 1:01.076 - still using Arcade 787B. NEAT! I'm like, proud of myself and stuff (:

Loudmusic is back to racing 👍

nice time man  ........ keep at it ;)

It's soooo stressful sometimes. "@^@#$%&# ... @&#$&^ ... Ok, this lap is for real. No messups." Then I shave off like 0.035 seconds and I'm jumping for joy. I'll grab an RX-7 LM (of which I ended up with many before I decided I had enough) and see what I can pull.

I realized I should have been editing that into the first post all along.

I'll update it tonight and add all the various catergories in.

Yeah, I don't know what the best way to organize it would be. Rypen made his list with all variations of all cars in one numbered list with designation for Arcade cars. That makes it difficult to compare yourself against others, as you have to find the other times for those cars. Either breaking it into several lists by car type or color coding a single list might be better.

I would think several lists by car would be fun. Then do a single list of the top three of each car type. That way we can see how the cars stack up against eachother. And color code the single list. I can do that for you if you'd like.

OK, I've added the list, and been upadting as I've been running it.

Just took the RX-7infinni, in stock form, out for a tour. After 24 laps, I managed to break the 1'28 barrier and slip into the 1'27 range. Not by much, but I'm in. After running my two best replays (1'28.003 and 1'27.999) throught the analyzer, it tells me I can squeeze another 0.241 seconds out. After reviewing both replays, I think I could squeeze about 0.150 out, and it'd take me 100 laps or more to get that last tenth.

Off to try out the RX-8 now...
