It may suit the car but the track doesn't suit me at all. It just has no rhythm to it at all, blame Tillke. However, I doubt Fuji suits many people so I may get a good result.

Also what's the Supra like compared to the XANAVI? I'm considering using a Supra next season.

Yeah the Supra is a good car but I'm just not driving it well at all. It handles very nicely although the weight can only go to 1150kg.

It's difficult to compare the 2 as I had TCS on in the XANAVI but I performed better last season in that than I have this season in the Supra.

I know SkengD has been doing very quick times in practice in the Supra so the pace is there to be right up the front.

If we do go for the Supra next season Tyrell , we should test both and choose the better . I think the yellowhat is 100 kg lighter

Of course, I have never driven either so I don't know what to expect, what do you think of it? Better than the GTR ?

I wouldn't be surprised if the cars were more evenly matched next season, lot's of complaints about car inequality this season.

I had to add 50kg ballast to my yellowhat last season I think.
Strangely my Epson NSX is also 1150kg while the rest are 1100kg.
Also speaking of points,a top 10 finish would be great.Currently the points of the guys ahead are 50,50 and then 48 for me.

When cornering with someone side by side (being overtaken or overtaking someone), I have a tendency to make a tiny amount of contact that will send them far off course. Can anyone give tips on avoiding contact when side by side?

@ZK If inside Go into the corner slower and try to shoot for a exit that farther from the edge of the road. I imagine the road is missing where the other driver is.

If your on the outside brake a tad earlier but stick outside and try to hug the other driver as much a possible and try to maintain as much speed as possible if they touch you and your forced off the road then they are not doing there job of passing your correctly and you have a right to get mad at them etc...

If Im stuck on the outside and fall back I would try to "criss-cross" and get a better exit,if Im side by side on the outside I just try to hold the line.
For inside yeah just brake abit earlier than usual and try to slow your car up mid corner with trail braking.
But always remember to give them room, sometimes even after the pass they may still be there.
Which reminds me I think I turned in on Allascato in the race as he went for a pass, felt light but I hope it didn't bend his steering.

I see a definite disadvantage for the SC430s at Spa, Monza, and Fuji and think that Nurb will be the only track remaining that gives me a chance w/o help from the competition.

Last season at Fuji I was able to fight for the third place most of the time and I missed it only due to my mistakes. So I think if you find a comfortable setup you will be able fight for a podium as well.

At Monza I got a fourth place but I suffered the lack of power of the Bandai and I've never been close to the top.

Thanks mont and phil. I punted off gp and allascato this last race. If I be too cautious though, I lose ground. Fuji's gonna be as exciting for me as past GT3, right phil? ;)

Ill be practicing hard for fuji , if I don't have a better result than montal there I can kiss my title hopes goodbye

Lets hope it all goes to plan zk,one stop or two for you? I also have a slight history with Fuji,my memory is not being able to see the final corner because the Yellowhat Supra's A pillars and cage are so thick!

Yes it will be imperative to get that braking point down before raceday.

I might have a practice session tonight .

Soopa and everyone else , what do you think of increasing the race calendar from 10 races to 12 ?

Would be nice to get deep forest in there without having to take out trial mountain and then we could bring back indy or daytona road course . An oval race wouldn't be a bad idea either or am I pushing my luck with the thoughts of having an oval race .

Thoughts ?

I certainly think increasing races by 2 sounds reasonable. We could use more races.:)
However the daytonas oval might kill the Lexus and the "road" part of the course is pretty narrow.

I've always have a dream (sort of) of competitive racing on Eiger. It just sounds so fun doing that. :)

I don't see the Lexus as such a weak car as it is perceived to be and it seems to have be proven this season.

3 race wins and all those bonus points , 2 podiums also by GarageFather.

Would love to see Deep Forest added to the calendar, best track in GT5, just perfect. An oval race would be nice, although quite unfair on the lexus, can't say I'm a big fan the road variants of Indy and Daytona though.Laguna Seca or Monaco would be nice too.

Lexus seems to do terrible on high speed circuits, look at La Sarthe results for example. Will be very interesting to see how the lexus drivers perform on Wednesday, should give everyone an idea of just how bad the lexus really is.

Me too,it's just that I hear alot of complaints with regards to it,especially at high speed tracks(sarthe, etc). It is bloody quick on Tokyo for whatever reason though.

That is my practice track when I started playing GT5 with road cars, good for practicing drifting.
We should all stick comf hards on our GT500 cars and drift there*ahem Mont*!:p

I'd rather better have Monaco and Laguna Seca added to the calendar :)

I can't speak for the '08 lexus but there is no doubt in my mind that the '06 is slower than the GT-R and the NSX from my testing. I have to drive a lot harder to compete with it and that is partly why I have had to do 2 stopper all year to have a chance.

I feel I can compete well on the shorter tracks in this car because its limitations aren't as damaging to my pace at the shorter tracks. Tracks like LeSarthe, I was 10 seconds off the pole. I don't care how great a line I ran, I would never be able to make up ten seconds when my time was clean and error free.

The pace of the car was exposed at LeSarthe because of the track layout and it is less noticeable at shorter tracks but it still plays a part with varying degrees of handicap based on track layout.

This is why I have said in the past that Montalvomc's success says more about his driving than about the performance of the SC430. He is driving the the '08 which is a bit better than the '06 but he is winning races over much better cars and that is a testament to his skill, not car performance. If you doubt it, I suggest you select a lexus for next season. I am guessing that they will all be available for your team next year.

The calendar could be increased to 12 I don't see a problem with that. I would say Monaco & Laguna are definite possibilities for next season, they were left out because they are hard tracks to pass cleanly on, having said that we have a distinct lack of beginners here anyway so could probably get away with it. Definitely NO to an oval, they are dull enough as it is and require practically zero skill, plus the NSX's would just destroy anything else if they get drafting together (Indy Road is a nice track though). I would like to keep at least 2 GT original tracks, they are a nice break from the real life and most are actually nice to drive, I'm hoping for some DLC to give us Midfield amongst others to choose from. I will change the tracks next season but with a lot more careful consideration to the cars and how many tracks would benefit each model.

I am also open to suggestions on how we level the cars as I really don't see a fair way of doing it but I'd really like car choice not to matter so much. If I was consistent on any particular track I could test all the cars adjusting power until my lap times were all the same, but I'm not that consistent, and even if I was who's to say I just don't drive well in a particular car... NSX for example ;)

I think laguna seca and bringing back deep forest or indy could be nice .

I would love Monaco to be in. And probably SSR5 or CSR5, they just sound so much fun to race in.

Yes and Garage you were right about Montals driving talent , he has to be the best i have seen so far.

Garage , also please remember to send me that replay when you have time.

Thanks.

Perhaps ballast and HP limits for some cars,we could do some testing with different drivers in the off season.
Yes,I have tested the Yellowhat Supra and 08 SC430's and frankly they suit me more, and believe me Im no Toyota fanboy.
BUT...Slzk has finally got the NSX to work for us in terms of setup and Im really, really happy about that.Hopefully I can keep it clean in Fuji.
