Mike Myers signs on for "Austin Powers 4!"

According to multiple sources, it seems a new Austin Powers movie is about to begin filming. I, personally, can't wait! What are you guys' opinions?

This is somewhat old news. If what I read earlier this year still holds it own, the initial plot is going to be from the perspective of Dr. Evil.

I didn't like the guru that much, however the style of AP and the humour that Myers provides is what I starting to get my expectations to arise.

I was expecting this since 2002, I knew that he wanted to make the 4th one(things that found in multiple articles) but I didn't expected it to become true.

If the Dr. Evil plot line Terronium mentioned is true, I think they can do some great things with that. Preparation H and the Alan Parsons Project come to mind :lol:. Hopefully they can bring Fran and Scotty back.

No, I'm not saying it (finally) being confirmed/Myers signing the contract isn't new, but it was strongly hinted at earlier this year. If they still go with the "You're now in the mind of Dr. Evil" bit I wonder how it'll play out.
 
I see what you're saying. I always thought Dr. Evil had a bit more potential. His antics made me have more laugh out loud moments than Austin at times, I always found AP to be the more lovable character. The funniest moment of the movies so far for me is still Scotty and Dr. Evil going back and forth about Preparation H :D.
 
I love Austin Powers, so it's great to hear this news.
 
I always wonderer how they will handle the issue of "Dr. Evil being Good".

Maybe they will use the time machine, or a deus ex machina, or they will just make a joke out of it.
 
Yeah, my thought is that Nigel could possibly die (probably in a humorous sex-related incident), which could bring Dr. Evil back to the bad side, where I think most of his comedic potential is. I neeeeed another obscenely-built spaceship and a funny evil project name :).
 
I wish I wasn't adverse to cursing (most of the time :sly:), or else I would have so many quotes to share. I love Fat Bastard, his run in with Felicity was so funny. And his comments after going on the Subway diet 👍.
 
Meh, was getting played out by the end of the series with the same old jokes being recycled throughout. Hopefully he brings something new to the movie or its just a rent for me.
 
Awesome news! I love movies like these because you can always know what to expect and are great for just relaxing and having a few laughs, even if the movie isn't that good and the plot is mediocre.

👍 I never thought about it that way, but those seem to be my favorite movies!

Hopefully Seth Green will reprise his Scotty Evil role. I love all these movies and especially the banter between Dr. Evil and Scotty.

I'm really excited for this film, the Austin Powers movies are some of the funniest movies I've seen. Dr Evil and Scotty are hilarious
 
You know when you go into an apartment building and you smell the other people's cooking on each floor and you go "What are they cookin'?" That, plus crap!

That would be amazing. Hoping for a comedy version of the parkour chase. These films may still have life in them. I wanted to link a video here, but couldn't find one without strong language. Let's just leave it at this...

That would be great. I think these films have aged surprisingly well. Time will tell if this will reboot the franchise, or spell the definitive end of it. I'm hoping it's the former.

Reminds me of the time my friend and I were in a McDonalds after the pub. We were both very drunk and my friend started shouting Fat Bastard quotes at the guy working there.

At one point, he shouted "I ate a baby... The other other white meat." and was pointing at the guy. He even used an exaggerated Scottish accent. We are both Scottish, but for comedic effect, he tried to mimic Mike Myers' stock Scottish accent. The guy working there offered my friend a free meal if he promised to leave quietly... He picked the most expensive thing on the menu, then when he got his food, started singing the "sexy man" song. Good times.
 
We were 18 or 19 at the time. I think the guy working there was a few years younger and went to the same high school.
