FULL GALLERY
The full gallery is an external site that will have all the pictures on a single page. Each time I update it, I will post with the new images. The full gallery will allow for easy access to all at once without clicking on different pages.


Up until 3 days ago when I found this site I never really touched up gt4 photos with photoshop, just take them as they were. Here are a few of my first tries with alot of help from the above tutorials!
"Car Line": Just a basic crop and soft blur.

"Highway Cruisin": This was entered into the photoshop competition so it didn't have anything major, just color balance and the likes.

This is the one I need feedback for. I radial blurred the wheels on the right, motion blurred and saturated the background, sharpened the cars and added a bit of contrast overall. At this point I don't know how to use the smudge to clean up lines and reflections.

That third shot is beautiful.

As for advice, I say keep doing what your doing;) You seem to have a pretty good grasp with these three shots.

Other than that just check out other people's galleries for ideas as well as the stickied posts in the gallery main page. Lots of heplful tips to be found there.

Thanks alot for the positive feedback! I am going to go downstairs to get a fresh batch of images. I haven't taken any pictures for a few months and I am sick of looking at old ones.
 
Two more pictures to tack on.

"Hydroplaning": I bought this car based on how photogenic it was. Add that with the Tsukaba wet, and bingo. I did a soft focus, and also added a ripple effect to any surface with water, including the rooster tail. I also made a version w/o the ripple but prefer this one.

"Heating Up": A cool shot with the brakes flaring up. Radial blurred the wheels, saturated the image, saturated the brake disc even more. Soft focus and a few other fine tunes.

I thought this was a fresh idea I hadn't seen before.

"Showin' Off": I got the idea after radialing the rear wheel. It looked like a burnout without smoke! I selected an area that seemed to look about right for a gnarly cloud, feathered it, made a duplicate layer and used that to fog up the area. I used brightness/contrast, noise, and a few blurs for the effect.

I reckon it would've looked awesome if the brakes were on and the lights were slightly showing through the smoke, or at least a few low-opacity red spots. Still nice though :)
 
Yeah no doubt that one will need some work. It took ages to find something that resembled smoke since the "render cloud" option is extremely limited.

edit: One more for the night! Expect a boatload more tomorrow.

You've really got the spirit m8, for the first month of photoshopping GT4 pictures, you only have to really play around in order to get experienced.
It's not as much the fact that you got nice looking pictures, but it's the fact that you really tried alot of different things already, and you tried them really well.

Playing around like this means you'll learn in no time. I think you'll probably learn faster than most beginners here. I bet you'll quickly catch up :) 👍

Well as it turns out this is very detrimental to me...I forgot to do my physics HW last night and now I'm going to be late for class. haha! Thanks for all the feedback guys!
 
You certainly have a lot of potential. Good job so far, i like how clean the saleen shot and the trial celica shot is.
 
Here is another of the Trial Celica...It didn't come out nearly how I planned. I was going for a devilish look but had a hard time tinting the background red...

I love the first shot you opened your gallery with, but I think you should not update so much in one day.
 
Very nice shots again. I can see a lot of potential here for a really great galley.

Keep on updating to your heart's desire. I'd like to see more. Just don't ignore your homework for it;)
 
I'll wait a few days since I am fresh out of good pictures from the Vanquish and Celica photoshoots. Do you guys have any particular cars you know of that are "photogenic", that is, they are really crisp? I noticed the Supra tended to be (except for the back window).
 
Nice stuff man, very nice aston martin. In like a few days you already seem to have made a month of progress.
I think you don't need tips, you'll probably figure out yourself whats best and what not. I don't even have usefull tips. It's kind of depending on your inspiration now.

For a devilish look though. Try editing the original with 1% gradient stripes. Very very softly. Color -> transparent is the setting you want to have your gradient in. I always do 3 times 1% opacity. Each time from a diff corner. And the corner where the car is closest to, I leave out. Now it's important that you didn't do any contrast or level adjustments before the gradient stuff above. Cause you got to do that now. Go to level adjustments and move the white triangle to the left quite much. You can see, as you drag further, the gradient colors will mix with the original picture colors, instead of being a vague fog color. That red will become stronger in the darker areas and will disappear in the white areas.
It kinda gives the effect of a picture I did in my early days with a Corvette Race Car, in blue gradient. You can look it up if you want, I think it's even linked in the first post of my gallery. It's named a "special" picture.

I think it might bring you closer to the devil look. But I usually choose to bring saturation down, to black and white, before I do the gradient. It works better for me :)

I already "burnt" myself out on the photoshop, so I will wait a few more days before I start it up again. :)
 
I just wanted to say real quick that I am adding an extra something to each picture...a unique name! If you click "Full Gallery" on the first post, you will see all the images I have posted with their titles added on. All future pictures will have them. :)
