One thing that's really ticking me off is when you trade with someone and they ask how many miles there are.

As long as the repairs are done it can have a billion miles on it and it will run like new.

If you worry about miles you need to get a life.:grumpy:👎👎👎

You've posted this in the Q&A section, but I'm having trouble finding the question....

It was vague but I think he wants to know WHY people ask about Mileage.

It was like the gameshow..."The Clue is in the Answer".

My FGT has 935bhp but my friend only has 932bhp on his after 12000km and engine and chassis restore.

So I think mileage does make a difference but only if it is very high.

The only miles I care about are the ones I log. I'm up to 9,000 so far. I'm sure some of you have way more than that.

Yes I want an answer.....why do people worry about miles if it has no affect at all.

Have you asked these people who placed value on 0.0 mile cars why it is they do so??

At a guess, it's because a 0.0 mile car is almost guaranteed not to require a chassis or engine rebuild. A car with mileage on it, however, there is no way of telling if that car requires a chassis or engine rebuild, until you get it and drive it / change the oil.

A trade could be made for two equal cars costing 1,000,000, one car could be fine (0.0 miles) the other might need to have engine and chassis rebuilt. This might cost between 250,000-500,000.

The person who receives the 0.0 mile car has to do nothing, whereas the other person will need to rebuild their car at a cost. Therefore, the trade would end up not being of equal value, and for some, this would be viewed as an unfair trade.

I don't know why I personally ask, but I'd much rather have a 0 mileage car than one with any mileage, no matter what repairs or upgrades it has.

I don't mind a few hundred miles, anything after that then it may get costly especially after like 10000km.

Read my post #6.

The point is WHO pays for the rebuild...

If the trade is based on equal value, then AFTER the trade one of the parties has to spend 50% of the car's value on repairing it, it's not really an equal value trade is it??

The one who pays for the rebuild would have effectively lost money.

Oh wait a rebuild is half the cost of the car? So a 20,000,000 car costs 10 million to repair. Can you confirm this? Im building a list of GT facts and figures...Like How much BHP increase mods make. The Typical degrading over mileage. How much power you can lose in total etc...

Easy - pick a car, any car, go to GT auto, choose chassis or engine rebuild and it will show you how much it will cost, you DON'T have to go ahead with it, it will just show you how much it will cost.

Wow what? A 0 mileage car is completely new. Lets compare a newly bought car from the NCD to a used and upgraded one for trade.

Used with all upgrades and repairs: engine and chassis like new, 200,000 Cr. in upgrades at most. That used car will never be 100% like new again, maybe 99.9% but not 100%. And you can permanently lose HP. Not much, but it's a difference. I'd rather race 10 laps at Indy for 228,000 Cr in 8 minutes to upgrade the new car than to get the used one.

Probably just my OCD with mileage, but I know 0 mileage cars can sometimes be worth more.

Wait... WTF?!?!

What does having a life (what does that mean, anyways? Social life?) have to do with simply wanting a completely new car in a game instead of one that has been used?

I see no relation between the two...

a gtlife.heh.

I prefer for the car to have lower mileage but i agree it's a bit odd to want 0. I suppose if people are collecting cars rather than use them, as in real life they want them mint.

Well I don't mind having someone do a lap or two on the car before because as we all know it breaks it in and gives it more HP which looks better to trade on!

That's pretty 🤬 to collect cars and not even use them.

Lots of people collect cars for different reasons, there's quite a few threads on it and alot of people are doing it.

It makes the game a bit more enjoyable when you finally get the car you've been waiting for or finish the collection you've been trying to complete. 👍

When I get a 0 mile car, I dupe it, use one copy, and keep the other at 0 miles. :sly:

I ask (asked) for 0 miles because I like to get the car before the power has increased due to "run in", I also benchmark all my cars from 0 miles/km's. Not fair to have one at 300 miles with oil change and the other at 0 miles without the power increases the other got.

Plus it makes the car feel "new" even if that is just a mental state.

Cars in real life acculmate mileage right, this is the real driving simulator, if mileage wasn't in the game it wouldn't be the real driving simulator, how you see it is your opinon, but it's that simple to be known as the real driving simulator mileage has to be in the game otherwise it's not real, not having the odometer on standard cars and premiums that omitted the feature, thats not real. To get so angry at something that is real life cars and been added to make the game seem more real is just strange, i don't drive a car in real life so i love the mileage feature it's the main reason i have gran turismo over any other game bar test drive unlimited

Who are you to say how people should and should not play GT5? They bought the game with their money and they can use it however they want, even if they want to keep it in the case and stare at it before bed every night and every morning when they're brushing their teeth (not my style, but you never know!).

Come on, man. It's a game, let people play it. You know, enjoy it the way they choose to. And all this "get a life" BS needs to go away in a hurry.

Grow up.
