2007 Mini drivers are permitted to install Weight Reduction Stage 1 and Window Weight Reduction. '05 drivers may not install these parts. '02 still needs some testing.

I found that these two parts added to the '07 shaved off 2-3 seconds off my time. So I think that will do.

so 05 cant have any weight reduction then ? I was installing full weight reduction then adding ballast for better weight ratio so is this not allowed then.......

Not allowed anymore. Banning weight reductions on the '05 will further the equality between the two. Sorry man, you'll have to sell your precious Mini. :(

But how are you going to check this you have no way of telling who's got weight reduction and who's hasn't. So your basicly trusting everyone will comply to this rule which I don't really like. Would it not be better adding extra weight or less BHP to 05 and 02 as you would be able to check these things or even put 07 on medium tires instead of hard. It's upto to you but ..............

Hmm... I now see your point. Trust is pretty hard on the interwebs. Man, going through this over and over is a little annoying. Nothing against any of you, but it's that it's hard to find a way to moderate what's being used on what cars. And because you brought that up, once again it shall be changed. No weight reductions AT ALL. I think it'll be easier and much better if the '07 haves Racing Mediums. That may actually work out better.

Yeah sorry for being annoying lol.... I could do some testing later today to help you get the cars even if it helps.

Ok elite after about alot hours of testing and some help from pipi. I'm thinking why don't you allow all tuning parts, have '07 at 256bhp 1210kg and '05 at 226bhp 1210kg. This means all you have to do is a BHP check for everyone in the '05 before qualifing.

Im going to test this futher 2moro to make sure the cars are even, me and pipi had a few races and they looked pretty even and If the cars still aren't even we can add or take off BHP from '05. This will mean no one can install parts there not allowed which means less work making sure people have right parts installed.

Anyway hope this helps elite, let me know what you think ......

Yes this may help. But I don't like the idea of allowing all parts. Mini Challenge is actually a real life series and I'd like to be somewhat up to spec. All the parts you see that are permitted, are the parts that are permitted in the real series. Engine modifications, turbos, and superchargers are the only things that vary between the cars. I'm going to do some testing myself. I'm surprised that I haven't even jumped on the PS3 at all this last weekend.

yeah you could do the same but with the rules you have just now, just give the '05 30 less bhp or remove the supercharger in the 05. You would be able to tell if someone is using supercharger as the would have alot better accel but you can't enforce it the same way you can with bhp. Thats the only reason i suggested limiting the bhp instead of the supercharger.

I'll test both ways 2moro and see what the results are..... I know I'm saying it's harder to regulate but I would hope everyone would follow the rules no matter what they are. After all we're here for some good fun racing and lapping everyone cause you installed a turbo that was banned isn't fun. Anyway hopefully we'll have the 2 cars abit more equal for wednesdays race.

Are the rules finalized? If so, can post #1 be updated? Are we racing tomorrow?

^ yes im pretty sure were racing , me and pipi are doing some testing just now if you would like to join

I think we're just going to roll with the '05 using 236 HP and the '07 using 256. Sorry I didn't participate in any practice, I was on hours ago but I felt sick and went to bed. Maybe I can join you soon. I'll put it in the OP.

Also, is the countdown clock correct?

yeah countdown is right, the final test we done was '05 218bhp 1210kg with no supercharger, no weight reduction, no engine parts and was setup up to rules on 1st page ie 6 speed gear box and suspension RH + 20 at rear ect. '07 226bhp 1210kg with a stage 2 turbo, no weight reduction, no engine parts and again setup up to rules on page 1. I'll try test this more 2moro but if it turns out 05 is faster we can add bhp to 07 or something. Anyway hope to see everyone 2moro for a good race :)

Ok... so... HP will increase on new cars. With last minute rule changes we (or I) won't have time to put 200 miles on a new car to break in the engine.

At the start of the race I'll be at the limit... in either an 05 or a 07, not sure yet.

So no weight reduction, no engine upgrades, 236HP for the 05, 256HP for the 07. Right? What is the TQ for the 05 now?

I have no idea what the torque is for the '05. Anyways.

Race in 2 hours! I hope everyone is ready because there will be NO DELAYS this time. This will be the real deal and I hope 90% of the drivers who signed up are there, if not all. You signed up because you wanted to race! Do not abandon us! You only have to notify me that you will not be participating in select races or the entire series.

Hey think '07 should be allowed stage 3 turbo after doing some more testing. So think Regs should be 226bhp 1210kg although 05 will only be between 215bhp - 222bhp depending on how many miles you have on clock. GP/D Test Times - '05 141.867 '07 stage 3 turbo - 141.655 '07 stage 2 turbo 142.3

'07 226bhp 1210kg 433pp

'05 218bhp 1210kg 423pp ( BHP many change due to my mini being NEW think will go up to 222BHP) EDIT goes upto 229BHP So will be limited to 226bhp to fit with regs

Engine Parts and Weight reduction is Banned for both cars and in the '05 the supercharger is banned. I've tried my best to make these cars as even as possible while keeping as close to current regs. Anyway I'll that info with you elite it's your call.

Well it may be too late to implement these tuning regulations. Unless all the drivers see it and hopefully go by it before the race. I think we'll just go with what's in the OP for now. Hopefully the drivers saw it considering I put it up yesterday. If not the new HP requirements are that the '05 is limited to 218 BHP and the '07 is limited to 226 BHP

It's really the same as on the 1st page, when the 05 is broke in you can get it to 226BHP and it basicly does the same times as the 07' with a stage 3 turbo. I got these times 05' 226bhp 1.14.663, 07' 226bhp 1.14.655, So when you break in '05 it's just as good a car as the 07. So I would just have the regs for both cars 226bhp 1210kg .......

Alright. I guess that works too. Is everyone ready for the race? I only see 3 others viewing the thread... I'll PM everyone before the race.

Sorry Ive just come on line now and read your last post, have been in wrong room. Have been on PS3 since 8.30 uk time, practacing but no one was online. Can I still race next week??????
