The Cup
A series of 6 races, in the New Mini Cooper-S (GT4).
Each race will be run as a hotlap on a specific track and will feature tire restrictions.
Each race will last a whole week.
Drivers will be granted points depending on their fastest clean lap (replays welcome).
The overall winner will be the racer with the most points at the end of race #6.

Race #5
Walls and walls again.
Restrictions on parts are listed below, and the extra restriction on tires still stands.
You already used 2 of the 3 provided tire sets, thus you don’t have any more choice, you must use the remaining set.

Car : Simulation Mini Cooper-S
- you need a Mini Cooper-S in your garage to race this week
Parts restrictions :
- no nitro
- max 200hp (Check the power in the settings)
- tires : racing qualifying tires, or racing hard tires depending on your choice for races #3 and #4.
- you cannot mix types (e.g. no racing on the front and sport on the rear)

Track : Infineon Stock Car
Gran Turismo mode, World circuits, Infineon ST, Free run.

Deadline : Tuesday, 3rd May, 08:00am (GMT) - 00:00am (West Coast) - 03:00am (East Coast)

Ghost :
Again no ghost, you're big guys/gals now.

Rules

Driving rules : standard OLR rules
- 2 wheels on track at all times
- any tarmac area or rumble strip is considered part of the track (That means you can go way beyond the rumble strip at turn 5, as long as you don’t touch the wall.
- no contact with walls
- no hybrids or cheating of any kind

Submission :
- practice as much as you want before deadline
- PM me (flat-out) your best clean lap (final time only) and your tire choice (sport or racing)
- save and keep your hotlap replay
- you can submit only once per race

Thread rules :
- do not discuss final lap time
- do not discuss final sector time
- T times discussion is encouraged

Be careful not to run on the wrong track, this one is tricky !
We run on Infineon ST and not SP. That's the one with the long straight after T1 and the two 90° right-handers.
It had to be an easy one after Citta ;)

Yes, I thought that SP stands for Sports Car and ST stands for Stock Car. I may be mistaken. Anyway, we know which one to race the one with the two 90 degree right handers after T1. 👍 I just did some laps on this with the BMW M5 last night. I got burnt out on the Evo and had to work on my M5 setup. Fun.

I'm glad to see you will be around for Race #5 as well, extase. 👍

I corrected my post, thanks Barbol.
To make it clear once for all (I hope), we're running on Infineon SP

Mojo Rising
I can't believe you broke out the flame thrower. Ouch.
Nice device isn't it ?
I was so angry at myself for having mixed the track names when I wanted to make it clear, that I found it an appropriate over-reaction. :scared:

;)

First I have to say, 3rdGenRacerX is the M-A-N !!! He got my video ready in one day! He asked for nothing in return. (not like I have anything) If the world had more people like that to help people out, it would be a much nicer place. Well, here's my video.

Mojo Race #4

You will see that the last hairpin wasn't very graceful, but I believe up to T2 was alright. 👍

Thanks Barbol.

I think 200 Hp is perfect for that course. Nice combo, Flat-Out.

Woohoo, Time to put in some laps on Infineon.

 tell us how many mile you did on the citti to get a time like that?? i'm really curious..
I ran myself about 15 laps (3 sessions of 5 laps), which indeed deserved a time like I submitted.
But that doesn't need a bowdown.

;)

To answer your question, I assume Chris (Mojo) ran about 100 laps. 👍

The only times I won div2 in the WRS (week 84 and 106) were both at Apricot Hill reverse (my favourite track), and I had run both times about 200 laps.

i like the whole endurance thing, but 200 laps is just too much for me, guess that makes me a wuss :scared:
On the other hand i enjoyed the fact of constantly trying to go faster... maybe, when i have some more free time... :sly:
keep it up guys

I honestly ran an estimated 40 laps. I was getting T2s on par with all of yours I just took it one time and something clicked, ya know, and all of a sudden I was running over a second quicker than my previous attempts! Then it just flowed. It may sound weird, but that's what happened.

I have no clue of how tune the car for this track  (for the others neither)

Here 43.8 with a T1 of 21.2, What is yout T1?

Really the mini with the wing is very ridiculous :dopey: :O

Uh oh. My rear view mirror is full of Barbol's Mini. I need to put the hammer down tonight, or else I'll get passed.

I found that if I take the 2nd 90 way wide at first, then slam on the brakes to bring my nose in, and don't give it full throttle until I see the apex of the following corner, I can make it through pretty well. It also depends on how your car is setup, as to how it will react to hard braking.

Hey Extase. Any news on your T times, or are you going to leave us hanging until the results, like Race #4? Or will you share your T times and give us an idea of where you are at?

@ Flat-Out, I'm sure you're busy with the WRS, leaderboard and whatever else, but have you had a chance to put in any laps? I think the timing of the Mini Cup was just a little off. Too bad the WRS had to start so soon. I was enjoying a full field of drivers.

BTW: How do you guys make the degree symbol with your key board? :)

Actually I've been away from my PS2 this week, then busy taking a look at GT4 replays in a hexadecimal editor, trying to figure out how to know the car, track and total time without having to switch the PS2 on.
I didn't run at Infineon, and I didn't run the WRS week 4 either.
I think I'll skip the WRS this week.
I'll run tonight another race we have at the Numbers (deadline : tonight), and tomorrow night I'll run the Mini @ Infineon.

For the Mini Cup, it's hard to keep people interested for 6 races in the same car, especially when it's not a killer car.
The old Mini had lots of fan, and that was much easier.
I'll organize a new series based on a different concept in a few months (weeks?)

As for the ° sign, I use a french keyboard (AZERTY), so it's SHIFT+right parenthesis.
I don't know for other keyboards.

When we're finished with the Mini race, and the WRS is not enough to quench your racing thirst, this is the place to go : 25-lapper series.
Miguel you already know about this I think, Chris, this is a series which started with only 3/4 racers in a private thread but more and more people joined becaused they liked the concept and it's now a OLR series which is not private anymore.
I'll run Infineon tonight, just before I post final race.

i'm truly sorry but i didn't get to drive the infineon just yet, i had a busy week and an even busier weekend
i'll do some laps tonight, and i'll try to post my T-tiumes :)
however i don't think i'll do all that good,i'm still a bit under the weather from the last few nights :)
