Hmm, not a fan of the idea, there's some ongoing discussions in threads opened from new users, like "GT5 general news thread" for example. Also there's many rather useless threads opened from members with more than 30 posts. So altogether such a rule doesn't make much sense, to me anyways.
I guarantee that it will make sense when GT5 is released. Without a restriction on thread creation by new members, we would be inundated with topics like "ZOMG i just got gt5 its awsome", and moderators probably wouldn't even be able to keep up with locking them, particularly if they made a comment describing why it was closed, as they prefer to do. People would post in a "first impressions" thread instead.
Fair point. 👍That was his 11th post(If I counted correctly) which would be in the 10-15 span I suggested before they can open a thread.
Hey, that made me think. Would it be possible to have it so that new members get the search function first and ONLY when no result shows up, they get an option to create a new topic? So maybe instead of the new topic button giving you a new topic creater, it should redirect you to a search options.👍
Fair point. 👍

Bad idea IMO. How confusing would that be if you ad to make a search with no results to start a thread.
Well if it's real important, perhaps they could just PM Jordan or a moderator and tell them they have information to share.
freight48Jordan, is this feature still in the plans?
They already are. The moderation queue is divided into two parts: posts pending approval, and threads pending approval. Here's an Idea: perhaps new member's Threads can be approved like their posts.
What about having small restriction for thread creation, 15 posts isn't too much or too little...
