Minimum PP Limit

I've noticed more and more people showing up to PP750 events with cars below 700 points.

I can understand running cars a little below the point limit to get a better starting position, hoping to avoid the chaos of a full field. Or running an under performing car to provide a bit more of a challenge at a particular event. But the people I have seen lately don't fall into either of these categories.

I would be glad to see a PP minimum introduced. Whether on purpose or by accident, poorly chosen and setup cars cause nothing but trouble for the entire field at the beginning of a race.

I am curious if this happened in Spec 1 or if it is commonplace in PAL races.

My ~550PP hot hatches can keep up quite fine, thankyou (mind you, only against beginners and only in the corners).

+1000

There should also be qualifying when you first start an event. Not before every race, but you should be given the chance to post a time when you pick an event from the main online menu. Then the computer can take that time and place people on the grid accordingly.

It doesn't bother me any. I use low PP cars when im drifting because i dont need the power or grip that would make it near the limit for that race. And I simply pull over to the side at the start and all is good.

I agree. Maybe a 50 point PP range. Part of the challenge of the 750pp races is trying to tame a race car that doesn't want to be tamed. It's just not in the spirit of things to show up in a 600pp car that is so much easier to control. Of course, part of it is that I'm not that good at 750pp races and I'll get beat by that little 600pp car.

Yup, just get out of the way at the start. I've purposely ran super low pp cars with friends so we can race each other and avoid the mess, all the while trying to get out the way of the faster cars. Still some feel the need to punt you off even though you are no threat what so ever.

I personally think that there should be no minimum limit for PP. How else are the heathens every going to learn that you can win a race with cars that 'seem' inferior?

A couple of nights ago I raced the PP600 until it started to really die down. I exited the event and noticed that there were a number of people racing in the PP500 Suzuka.

I went to the Garage, switched to the Alpha, headed for Suzuka, and did a few Free Runs laps to prepare myself for a good race. I wasn't paying much attention until I heard the race starting. I grabbed a hold of my wheel, adjusted my seat, and was startled to see that I was starting in first place on the grid!!! That's unheard of. Things were going great.

Once the race was underway, I swept along into T1 and quickly into the S-curves. I was driving smoothly and keeping a decent lead...or so I thought. Once I got around Dunlop, Tuned S2K's, Tuned Vettes, Vipers, etc. were either passing or bunching up on me by like I was sitting still. I thought to myself, "What are they doing in here?!?"

I realized I had joined PP750 Suzuka and I was ahead because I was holding everyone up!!! How embarrassing.

(The really sad part is that I did not finish last... 👍 )
