for ure info that screen shot is Tusbuka circuit on GTP.......see the MGF banner on the tower in the background......yes! GTP on PS2 looks that good!!!......i dont exactly like minivans, im just sayin that its good to have a variety of cars!

The main reason besides modifying these wagons and vans, that I like them in GT games is because of the variety in events, events is everything, the more the better.
But what about SUV's? Should they be in? They're in Enthusia Professional Racing(which by the way, is looking absolutely stunning:eek: )

I've only seen the trailer for Enthusia, that looked pretty good, still not as good as GT4. Right now there's two racing games I'm looking forward to, GT4 on PS2, and Forza Motorsport on Xbox.

robin: They're all ugly. I don't want to pretend I'm driving to a Walmart or picking the kids up from soccer in GT4.

There was a thing on SomethingAwful.com a while ago, the 10 worst car designs ever, worth a look, some good stuff.

There are Wal-Marts in Australia, mate?

Anyhow, I'm going to tell you why I tihnk some of these minivans and station wagons are actually GOOD for GT4. This principle goes back to the "daily driver in GT4" deal. If your daily driver is a wagon or van and you have a heart for performance, why not have such a thing? What if you had a Blazer, and you like to put in bolt-ons to make it run low ETs? Or maybe you have a Camaro with a balanced road racing setup? Maybe you have a Honda Odyssey and want to tune it up to kick ass and look good doing it? You'd want to have them in the game if one of these describe you. Now sure, they may not outrun a Viper GTS-R, but at least you have a car that you can call your perfect car. Even that Toyota Bb/Scion Xb makes for some nice transportation. Some say they are ugly, but we can leave that for another topic.

Now me, personally, I'd like to see a Bb/Xb vs. Mini deal happen. Both have front-drive (The Bb/Xb can be had with 4WD if I'm not mistaken), and are both kind of boxy and have low horsepower. GT4 is about having fun. So why not have fun in something that may not win the Grand Valley 300km or Le Mans? Minivans and station wagons. Get out there and have some fun.

Well there are but they are called K-Mart, some places do actually have them as Wal-Mart but most are K-Mart.

Anyway I love these kinds of vehicles, I just like being able to drive cars I see on the road everyday. The whole thing of GT isn't just about racing high-performance, its about driving normal everyday cars. I mean I would be very happy if my crappy little Holden Combo is in the game so I can see how the ***** handles when put to the limits on a race track. For those of you who don't what a Combo is take a look at this:

RED%20COMBO.jpg

Laugh all you want but she's my little beast :p

A nice beast at that, GT3. And after learning there are K-Marts in Aussie land (which would support the showing of the K-Mart Holden race teams) nice to see another nice Aussie machine. I don't know. You all down in Australia seem to know how to make a truck more car-like. That's the dead opposite of here in the States.

You can always dig up my "Keep on Truckin'" topic if you got some trucks to contribute, but I think they are welcome to GT4. Those who may have raced Gran Turismo 2 may remember the Station Wagon race series. You can even modify some wagons. Proving once again that ANYTHING can be a race car. And to make a cheap plug for T5-R, ever recall the Volvo GT3 Wagons? So, station wagons have shown their stripes in racing. Only thing to hope for in GT4 will be a minivan series, and then maybe (this will impress some and p*ss off others) a One-Make series featuring the Renault Espace F1!

Well actually the design of that car is actually european, its called a Opel or Vauxhall Combo in Europe but because Holden is General Motors it gets badged a Holden even though its still got a Opel Engine.

Happens to a lot of cars.

Walmart is KMart here but I didn't think KMart was as common in the US, nor if it actually exists. I'm also 17 so fortunately I don't have to collect kids from soccer yet, it was just an identifiable example for people.

I remember at the Adelaide round of the ALMS in 2000, the "Celebrity" race (notable celebrities racing in identical cars for a few laps) consisted of a number of New Beetles. The race was absolutely silent except for the screeching of tyres from time to time. You could not hear the cars themselves whatsoever. It was impressively lame. A wagon only champinoship, for example, engenders those sort of thoughts for me.

yeah i suppose that for racing purposes, minivans would be a bit useless and slow to race, but its still interesting to see ugly cars in the game!

I wish GT4 would have a Vauxhall / Opel Corsa!!! I love that car! part from the fact that I own one!

I think if they did put a corsa in that they should put The Opel Corsa OPC version.....its sweet and fast, but its not the 2004 version like mine :D

I believe that in-game shot is an xB.

Yup, it's also the slowest car in the game. Even though it has around 104 bhp it get's beat by the kei class cars because it's so heavy and un-aerodynamic. Oh and it is probably the worst handling car in GT4:P, actually maybe the EVO VIII MR is, but at least that can go in a straight line.

In the "304 pics thread" I think one of the E3 screenies is of an Opel Corsa :) aswell as a Tigra.

Well if you look at my car on the last page you will see that the front of the car is actually a Holden Barina aka Opel/Vauxhall Corsa although its the 98 model. So yeah I hope the Barina/Corsa is in the game although I would like the new one and the older model ie. 98

The thing is guys, because these cars handle quite horribly on track, makes them a challenge don't you think? Its the challenge of making a crap car go fast that I think KY likes to include these vehicles. Once again KY has said the game is not a racing game is a driving simulator where you get to drive a variety of cars from all over the world.

This driving simulator thing is starting to get on my nerves. I don't know about you guys but when I drive to the supermarket, movie theatre or university, I don't do so on a closed, well sealed road that would pass for a race track against 5 similar vehicles, without a speed limit. All the 'driving' you do in GT is in a racing context with the exception of the license tests. Racing is driving.

Yes there's a challenge to maintaining momentum and speed in a crappy car, there's even a certain satisfaction that can arise from getting a car like that to go fast, comparatively speaking. But to some people that's the same satisfaction that comes from waking up each morning to the knowledge you don't have AIDS. You haven't exactly achieved something Earth shattering.

I would like to see the Toyota Previa. I drove tthat ting as my first car. It does alright. i beat a porshe boxster (prolly cause driver sucks but he kept looking at disbelief that I was out cornering him.) anyway great s et up. Engine is huge inline 4 leaned over 70 degrees to fit under driver and front passenger so literally mid engine. Lower and middle CG means better turning. Previas are RWD too. Give it some decent suspension and weight lightening up top, like lexan windows and remove most of teh seats. It would school a lot of people. For those owho mod their real cars, Tein actually makes adjustable suspensuion for these. cool huh? oh and the later models ha ve a super charger option.

I wouldn't mind having minivans and station wagons in the game. I would like to see the Honda Odyssey go 150+ mph. I am also a fan of station wagons, and I love the new hemi-powered Dodge Magnum. And as many others have said, the more vehicles, the better.

Carlover why must you resurect long dead threads? Come on, I know you want to put in your two cents but really! Any ways now that I've already started to post I might as well voice my opinion. I'm fine with having wagons, especially say the RS6 Avante, but I don't want to see any minivans. If they do decide to include them I don't want to have to buy one and race it to get to 100%.

Come on, you people gripe on about finding a thread instead of starting a new one. So when I find one, you yell at me for "resurrecting long dead threads." Make up your mind. I am not asking for trouble, I'm just confused.

Don't be confused - you're perfectly correct. So far that I've seen, you've pulled up old threads and added to them, just like you should. There's nothing wrong with that; that way your discussion extends and existing one rather than repeating it.

Well I'd prefer to see a resurected thread than a new one covering the exact same topic, unless its absolutely ancient where the topic itself is out of date (e.g. a GT3 wishlist). :)

The more the better as most other people have said. I also did learn how to drive on a minivan, and since i just got my license, i've been driving around my 1999 Saturn SL2 with a stick. What i learned on was i believe a 1997 Plymouth Voyager, similar to the Dodge Caravan in some aspects. So i wouldn't mind minivans or station wagons in the game. It's all in good fun. :)

Hey I've never yelled at any one for starting a repeat thread, but don't quote me on that in case I'm wrong or just have a really bad memory. But sorry your right, I gues It kind of annoyed me to see a thread on minivans of all things. Wagons I like, but minivans! :yuck:

Personally I think is considerate and reponsible for new members to resurect old threads rather than new ones as long as it is still about the same topic......imagine this as a new thread......it would go downhill very very fast!.....

Well at least xcsti has said sorry, we can get on with this thread now or let it die again.

I want to see the following minivans in GT4:

2004 Chevy Astro
1995 Ford Aerostar Extended (my friend has one)
1982 Ford Club Wagon (another friend's van)

This station wagon would be nice to see in GT4:

2004 Dodge Magnum (might be '05)

   Yeah it may be a minivan but I lovew that thing, we got one in our family, 14 years old and runnin strong. Steering is light as hell, you could steer with two fingers if you wanted. That IS a huge four banger, it pulls that tank pretty fast if ya ask me.

Minivans in GT4....if they were gonna put in what I wanted, I'd want these:

1991 Toyota Previa (The one we still own is as old as me, we bought it cuz I was born an we needed a van)

Mitsubishi L300 ( stick shifter on the steering column? Must be hard to change gears w/o messin up...but cool)

Toyota Hi-Ace and Lo-Ace (hehehe never sold in da 'States)

Toyota 1980's "Van" ( that funny lookin one where your front seats sit on top of the front wheel wells)

1995 Nissan Quest ( Hahaha I rode in this one and it's engine don't sound that bad :dopey: )
