Missing Premium Cars - which surprised you?

Which "quasi" DTM car do you mean? The IS-F Racing Concept?

Yes, exactly that. I like the IS-F Racing Concept, and it looks like a DTM car, and was apparently built with the series in mind - I just can't understand why PD didn't make at least a couple more DTM cars premium if they knew there would be a DTM event - unless they just quickly threw the events together as an afterthought...

It has been discovered that DTM was really truthfully on the cards for GT5. But their EPIC time keeping cost them.

+1

all the expensive cars 1mil+ should really be premium, you wait so long to find them in the UCD yet they are just ok-ish looking standards, if that (nissan R390 race car rings a bell, look at the wheel arches!)

You can add prize cars to that as well - the CLK GTR (or LM depending on when you got it) has really low res textures, real shame. Then every prize in the Extreme series is a standard....

Please put all your favourite cars aside. We don't need another wishlist and you know the rest. Simply name the cars you were mostly suprised to see missing in the Premium category.

The FGT, I remember back in November when this was the most sought after car. I didn't buy anything I was saving all my money for one of these. When I finally got one I was shocked to see it standard. The Veyron was surprising as well, but the FGT really sticks out in my mind because it was the first "expensive" car I bought.

The tommykaira ZZII

those damn yellow wheels mess everything up

I was shocked that the Bugatti Veyron wasn't a premium. But apart from that nothing else really.

I would say all the RUFs and the Veyron. I'm not a big fan of the Veyron at all but the model seems particularly rough and it is an iconic car that a lot of people adore.

Considering their 'Big 3' rivals in the game, I'm surprised a race modifiable Mustang wasn't included.

Beetle RSI
Mk1 Golf GTI
NEW DTM cars (not those ones from GT4)
Jaguar XKR
97 Supra RZ
Audi R8 LMS

The list goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on..................

I don't really understand the "Standard vs. Premium" argument.

Think of GT5 as a game with 230 different cars with 800 bonus cars. The standard cars are just extra.

That being said.... two premium Suzuki Swifts... COME ON!

I always drive bumpercam so .. eehmm.. I really dont care what version the car is. Standard.. premium.. I'm not looking at the car anyways.
Seriously, if there would just be a big red cube behind me I wouldn;t notice.

Well maybe in my mirrors.
Only time I see cars is in a replay.. and I watch those only one a month or so.

Edit:
I'd rather have PD spend time on more different cars in the game, like an F50 or that new Lambo, the new Panamera maybe etc etc than making std cars into premium.
But what I would reeeeaally like PD to do: make more tracks.
Spa-Francorchamps
Brands Hatch (GP circuit)
Bathurst
Isle of Man Mountain Course
Brno
Donington Park
Imola
Macau Guia Circuit
Mosport
Road America
Road Atlanta

Dijon
Sachsenring
Silverstone
Sugo
Sebring

More tracks !

Chaparral 2D Race Car and 2J Race Car
DMC DeLorean S2
Ford RS200
Jaguar XJ220
Mazda 323F
Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II

They certainly missed the mark with important cars. there are plenty of much needed muscle cars they should have added as well as recent supercars and late model stuff. Apparently having 40 different Nissan skylines and 5 GTR variants were more important.
not to mention the lack of wheel options on standard cars or their poor look qualities. Quite sad for as much time as they had to make this.

Just a thought here, but there's absolutely no reason that I can rationalise why any vehicles released after GT4 shouldn't be premiums, as they would all have needed to be made from scratch.
So, GT4 was released in 2005, let's give them some grace for the end of that year and say the GT5 (including Prologue, just to be fair) cars start from 2006. But then why are the Mitsubishi Eclipse GT '06, Mazda Furai Concept '08 (ok, so it's a concept and not a release, but they've managed it before), Audi R8 Race cars (both '09), Bugatti Veyron '09 and Jaguar XFR '10 all standards?! It really doesn't make sense at all.

The FGT. Considering you're forced to use it in 6 A-spec races. But I guess it makes more sense to make the other 2 F1's premium even tho you never HAVE to use them, right..? sigh..

As others have said, the Bugatti Veyron should of been a premium. And agree with the post above about the FGT.

Like most people have said, the 4th-gen Supra (when you look at Toyota's Premium line-up, if you take out the purpose built race cars and leave in just the production cars, it's kind of lackluster). I'm surprised the 3000GT/GTO didn't get the Premium treatment either.

I found it funny they never did the current face-lifted Mustang especially since the new Camaro and Challenger were included in the game, the '07 model feels kind of out of date when put beside those two. I also wonder why a newer GT500 (not the '60s car) wasn't included either.

Going through the premiums, I noticed except for a handful of '09 and '10 models, most of the newest models are from the '07 and '08 model year, I wonder if this says something about when GT5 was supposed to be released.

Ford RS (there is the WRC version so why not the road version?)

Toyota Supra
Audi A4/A6

They have the 'rivals' for the above so it's strange they left these out :/

Your forgetting GTPSP,

The cars you mentioned and many others were made for PSP so the didn't make them from scratch.

The only only which surprise's me is the XFR as that was after PSP :S

McLaren F1 GTR '95/'96. The '95 version won Le Mans on debut and it missed out! Even if it was a RM version of the McLaren F1 I'd be happy.

The same here! I wish there was an RM Mustang, say a Boss 302. It would make for proper Trans-Am racing.
