I haven't really played the past few days, which happens when the inside of my home is 90° (32 c) or more, So I'll go back in tonight now that temps are more back to normal. My hope is that my one missing road is somewhere other than Tokyo!

Edit 1: Sure enough, roads driven in Tokyo is 99%. Sigh...

Edit 2: Finally found it after all this time. It's in the circle on the road that goes under the bridge. What a relief!

I've got a missing road in Tokyo somewhere, I'm on 99% completion, but even using the Xbox magnifier I can't locate any small hints of grey, I'm fairly sure I've done both levels of the freeway out towards the docks, but I feel it .ust be one of them with no more visible grey areas.

I also have 98% completion for the region next to it, but I think they could be the sections of road leading to either end for Legends Island that I haven't unlocked yet as I'm on the penultimate wristband before gold.

Found my missing Tokyo road and up to 100% road completion for that region, it was part of the freeway off the bridge from the docks back into the city freeway. Now up to 662 roads, how many roads make up Legends Island?

I think it’s nine?

With the update dropping previously discovered roads from people, here are the 1% I'm now missing in each region (bar one; haven't found it yet):

Edit: Okay, I've discovered quite a few more now! Apparently I dropped 21 roads... I'll update this thread as I find them and Spoiler tag them to prevent big scrolling...

Edit: Right, that's all of them, back up to 671 - although my record remained at 671 throughout.

No idea if this will help anyone or not, or if it's just some bizarre reclassification of what qualifies "driving" and it's an individual thing.

Looks like you had a lot more than me. I only had eight.
I might have lost some last time round, as I never got round to checking.

It looks like all of yours except one are in the same places - if not necessarily exactly the same bits of road, though some are - as mine, which is interesting.

Seems I spoke too soon and that ol' road erasing bug has bitten me in the ass as well. Of the eight roads they knocked off my total I only found these roads by searching the map with the naked eye and a huge magnifying glass.

For clarity I've placed the cursor slightly to the right of each greyed-out road or at least where I think it is.

Despite combing the Tokyo City I couldn't find anything which looked greyed-out, so maybe they're hidden underneath other sections of road in which case they will forever remain part of the undiscovered country of the rising sun as far as I'm concerned. If this is their idea of extending gameplay I have a 'fro to pick with those guys.

Looks like two of yours are the same as mine, and the third - the Ito one - is a previously known trouble-spot.

My Tokyo ones were all over, but fortunately not in the double/triple stack sections. I'd assume you've compared mine to your (lol) but if not it's worth a try.

Thanks but none of your locations worked for me. I suspect that thanks to some amateurish counting bug, they delete the last road you found judging by the locations of the ones I found on my own map.

I've noticed that a part of the southern lane (leading east to west) of the coastal road in Tokyo was missing for me. That part wasn't showing on the map. Must have been around the area where the cursor is in the following shot.

I also found a greyed out part on the southern T-crossing leading to Legend Island around where the cursor is.

/edit: Found two more offroad parts that I was missing.

One next to the highway cross in the east of the map.

One tiny missing piece on the road leading to the Azure Drive dangersign.

The last gray spec I was missing was at the very end of the road leading up to the Estate and it was covered by the Estate icon! I had to turn everything off on the map to finally see it. I guess that’s what I get for neglecting my property lol…

I was unfortunately a victim of the road count reduction. Hopefully I can get those annoying little spots with help from these screenshots.

These were the last three parts I was missing.
All of those are in my post too, along with two of the ones in your previous post, so it looks like it's pretty standardised for people.

Edit: For comedic purposes, I switched to an alternate testing account which doesn't have all roads discovered already (far from it!) and discovered several things all at once.

Firstly, my profile showed three entirely different counts for Roads Discovered... briefly. The one in "My Stats" was higher than the Road Discovery [xxx/671] at the bottom of the screen until I "discovered" a new one (one with only one or both ends marked, no missing middle bits) , then the one in My Stats reset to match it. However the one in the vs Friends rank displayed a completely different value which didn't change until the Road Discovery one rose to match it.

Additionally, a number of roads had microdeletions as already noted but...
... some had microadditions.

I've never even been to Ito Airfield on this test account, other than driving past it and discovering the location (I keep noted).

Safe to say they've ****ed something right up.

What's the point of discovering all roads or POI's, when part of your progress is randomly deleted by some update, as happened for (as far as I know) all players with the latest update. That's just pathetic and I doubt they will be able to fix this. I, for one, have drawn the conclusion that I should completely ignore this rubbish from now on.

Just for reference, it's not. The counter change is cosmetic.

Even while rediscovering all the roads, my Roads Discovered counter remained at 671:

You also don't lose progress towards journal targets or rewards for achieving them.

I don't know what you mean with "cosmetic". I had 671 discovered roads under My Stats -> Discover Japan and that suddenly dropped to 663. Correspondigly in the region view of the map the "Roads driven" percentage in some regions dropped from 100% to 99%. Cosmetic or not, that's annoying and amateurish.

The images tell the story.

I have 671 discovered roads (image 1), then I discover one of the newly missing ones which is registered as 656/671 (image 2), and I still have 671 discovered roads (image 3).

All the rewards from having discovered roads remain and were not removed (as they wouldn't be; rewards don't get walked back).

It's a cosmetic change (looks different, does nothing) which doesn't affect progression in any way.

I never said that any rewards were removed. I gave you examples of numbers in my statistics that have changed, and as these numbers are the only reference for you to know for sure you have completed something, showing wrong numbers is completely irritating. That this is something you consider cosmetic does not change the fact that you actually have to waste your time and rediscover things you already discovered before to correct these wrong counters. It is certainly not as if the FH series doesn't have a long history of incorrectly displayed statistics.

It's not what I consider. It is entirely cosmetic, because it does absolutely nothing - and it certainly doesn't delete part of your progress, per your first post. Which is what I was originally commenting on, as it's incorrect.

What else changes? It's a counter on the screen which is contradicted by the actual logged data in your profile. See the sequential images again.

You don't "have to waste your time" doing anything unless you want the cosmetic counter to go back up. Comically you also get 50XP more for each road you rediscover, so you can actually gain something from this cock-up.

Or you can keep on replying to me, the guy who spent time posting double-figures of locations to help everyone out if they wanted to rediscover the roads, instead. Which gains nobody anything.

Discovering roads is progress. Resetting the corresponding counter to a lower value (so that you have to rediscover some roads to get it back to its original value) means losing progress (no matter if rewards are connected with this or not). I don't know what's so hard to understand about this.

My reference for this progress is the counter under My Stats -> Discover Japan and the "Roads driven" percentage in the region view of the map, which are both readily available and accessible, in contrast to data that is logged somewhere in my profile but does not show up at those places where you'd expect them.

If you're using your own definition of "progress" and your own reference for displaying this progress, that's fine, but that does not make you right and that does not make me wrong.

Oh, we're going with that one then.

You are objectively wrong. My screenshots provided to you are an overt demonstration of that. A cosmetic item that has no bearing on actual game progress displays an incorrect value. That's all.

Yes, it's stupid, a bug, an oversight, shows a lack of proper testing and the corner-cutting. Making post after post about how awful it is, directed at the guy actually helping people and showing you it's an absolute nothing of an error because it doesn't delete progress like you said it does (thus helping you to put it into context as the nothingburger it is), is of no help whatsoever.

Now let's get back to actually helping people find the missing roads (including the newly "missing" ones, if they want to find them) like the point of this thread is.

And do not mistake that for a request.
