Dear everyone:

I deperately need help to pass this mission. My mission is supposed to chase down the leading skyline. The first skyline is way ahead of others. if i first pass all of the 4 cars, and no matter how i try, i never get near to the 1st racer. And i got an idea. is follow the other slower skyline and speed up at the back ( catch up ).
those AI managed to slow down between 260-262km/hr for the cornering. In the Straight road, i noticed the AI behind me the try to overtake. so I try to manage push the 2nd position AI from the corner to the straight road and as long as i following the 2nd AI my speed would graduately increase, and the 4th AI push even harder and overtake me and the 2nd AI, and the 4th pos AI become 2nd, so i chase to the new 2nd pos car. however even i manage to do it this way, i am still about 2 second behine then the first car. so and suggestion how i pass the mission ? and help would be appreciated.

My advice is to search or browse through the forum. This topic has been discussed a million times and a new thread pops up about it everyday.
 
This has been covered many times but here's how I did it. Full throttle on automatic the whole time. Passed cars going into first turn. Stay inside the top yellow line at all times. Down straight, the others will catch you, move right and let as many as can pass. Then repass in the corners and get back inside the yellow line. On lap 2, the AI never passed on the back straight and I was worried that I had screwed up. I just kept in the line, and realized by the start of lap 3 that I was going to catch the #1 car because he was easily visible. By the time I was half way through the last turn, I was drafting #1 and exited to turn at over 280km/h. I think most people try too hard.
