mistake in gt3

There are actually tons of mistakes in GT3,mostly because of a bad translation (which is actually fairly common in Japanese originated games). It's been a really long time since I've played GT3, but I'll bet that it is the same problem.

i think it might actualy use a 4cyl engine. i know the top secret supra uses the 4 cyl mr2 engine. so i think maybe that does too.

The game was 100.1% correct. Back when the 1999 JGTC circuit started, Team Tom's couldn't exactly figure out how to configure the 6-cycl to conform to the GT500 race specs. So, they dropped it down to an I4 and went from there. 500 ps from a 4 cylinder...that's pretty damn good.

And btw, it's 100.1% correct, because if you read the scrolling ticker at the bottom when you purchase the car, it'll explain what i just told ya'll.

if u watch the intro for GT3 with the castrol supra u only see 4 cylinders firing so its not a mistake.
just like the british touring mondeo which i tought was a V6 was actually an I4.

Aside form conforming to spec, the biggest reason for the 4cylinder engine is placement of mass. With a smaller engine, it is moved closer to the firewall, centering the mass of the engine. With this comes a lighter weight and better acceleration. Another upside is that eventhough it is a smaller engine, you can still get plenty of power from it...Granted, the gt500 spec doesn't allow full use of its potential, Top Secret has gone the extra mile and built a 720hp Supra using the 3SGTE engine. The Top Secret Supra can go from 0 to 200mph in about 14 seconds...

Hahahah, advanR, your avatar is hilarious.

When in your garage and you try to check the TQ on your car it seems quite weird. Not accurate.

The torque in GT3 is measured in kg-m's (Kilogram Meters) as opposed to lb-ft (Pound Feet). Even though Polyphony Digital has written in "lb-ft" after the torque figure. It should still be "kg-m" written after the torque figure.

So if you want to see what kind of torque your car actually has in lb-ft, multiply the torque number by 7.233

So if you have 23 kg-m of torque it is actually 166 lb-ft of torque.

Usually kg-m have a decimal place behind them to be more accurate.

You were right mate. The Castrol Supra has the engine of the Celica Rally Car in it. The 2.0I Litre injection in-line 4. I thought people knew that ? and do you all know that Skylines are NOT 4WD, lol.

indeed....

altho one mistake could be that the toyota as200 is in the game as a 4 speed. Here in australia it is called a lexus is200 and is a 6 speed, only the automatic is a 4 speed. I doubt that they would have put the automatic ver in the game instead of the manual hence it being a mistake....... no? ;)

Actually the original placement of that engine was in the MR-2...
