Hello GT5,

Let me start by saying thank you to everyone that posted there base tunes and the "every tune that existed" (simple Matt). Great tools to have while playing. Now I've searched And low and about everywhere for a base tune regarding the Evo and sadly I've came
Short handed. I do know how to use the search bar, google, I've looking in the "every tune that existed" thread. So if anyone would be kind enough to post a base tune for an Evo I would greatly appreciate it.

I dont have the HP on hand but it est 540hp. Fully modded.
I usually run on Indy

Thanks

Hi! Sorry for not replying to your PM earlier!

Try to use the same concept of a base tune from, say a VIII RS '03. You will have to make some minor adjustments, though.

Yeah i think this is the best option. I don't know how many evo's are in GT5, but they are all almost the same.

Oh your fine, I figure people have more of a life than gt5. But could you lead me to a RS base tune. Please and Thank You.

Why you don't use the Airtrek Turbo R as a base it's a Mitsubishi and it has little less HP but I believe it's the same motor, just make the spring rate max/max.

Try doing the tranny trick or " the flip". Only good for quarter mile drag though. Basically you set the final gear to about 3.500. Then turn the top speed all the way up then all the way down. The top speed at the top should read 112. From here it's up to you trim the gears to come in fast and switch fast. Your top speed at the top of the screen will read around 144 when your done adjusting. You'll be balancing between 6th gear and final gear when your close

Still awaiting =)

If you read Lil Snarfer post closely he gave you a base tune for the tranny if you follow it step by step in pretty sure you'll come up with something you be proud of as for a suspension go min/max; max/max; ur damper settings; 1/1 no toe and no camber 45/55 torque split.

Nice attitude 👍 You could also try something crazy like creating a tune yourself 💡

The Drag Tuning Bible

1/4 Mile Transmission Tuning

Recent revisions to the bible make it even more helpful and you could have easily made your own tune in the time you have been waiting 👍

I have tried to play with the ratios. I flip the transmission, I tried what lil snarfer suggested, but 3.500 was too low so I tried 3.615, then I lowered speed to minimum, then final to minimum I got it pretty good, but I top out right at the finish of Indy at about 129-130. Question is can I adjust my final for minimum with out dramatically affecting my acceleration? My sixth is about perfect right now. I've race couple of evo yestersday. Still getting spanked. I spin top of 1st and going into 2nd. Any suggestions?

A Question I have for you:

Are you using a wing?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Solution to problem:
6th should be stretched about 1-3 MPH more. If the final gear has a problem, then up it more. Try it out, hopefully it works 👍

I shouldore than likely up the final, do I do that before I flip the transmission or after?, I am using a spoiler I dont if there is anyway to take it off.

This is what you want to do. Pick a final that is low enough so you don't bog in 1st gear, with 1st gear fully to the left. But also high enough so when you play with 6th gear there isnt gear lag.

on my Evo 8 RS I use 3.700. and the max speed in the upper right becomes 142mph. I run 10.08's this way

the 8 RS is a bit faster than the GSR. so your final should be slightly lower. maybe 3.650 or 3.615 as you said earlier. then set the top speed to minimum. then set the final to minimum. Make sure 1st is fully left, 2nd is about 4.5 out of 10. set your 6th gear to make the top speed 135 or so. play with that, then for 3 4 and 5th align them up uniformly

^ that's gold right there. Great info.

What's your evo running? I see you say 10.08's.

Though I'll say this, a horse with blinders on will only follow what he see's in front of him.

Aftermarket wheels huh...

The 0-60 and 100 improve with aftermarket but they are slower in the 1/4... At least with my experience.

Best I could manage was a 10.085

No joke lol I'll take a slower time to make up in looks when there that bad.

Not like .002-.008 will make a difference online anyways :)

Really? I didn't know that!

Like is said that's my experience with that car lol. Someone might hit the magic spot in one go and it'll run faster.

Personally I'd rather run a faster 60 than 1/4....when you head to STI/evo rooms its all about 60/100 rather than 1/4

So has this "evolved" (get it ) into another Evo VIII RS '03 challenge because I'm lazy and already have it tuned :D:tup:

Thanks swara, but it takes me ages to tune so I'm a very slow tuner :D I only have a few cars tuned so I thought I could cheat and save myself weeks of tuning time

Ummm no offense Fest0r but I can't help but notice that time is from 1/5/12 ;)

You crazy Americans and your special date format  Over in the UK that’s 1st May 2012 👍
