As many Japanese sports cars could not survive the modern era, neither could Mitsubishi's own, Lancer Evolution. Mitsubishi officially announced they would stop producing this car, as they do not expect its demands anymore. Its final form, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition, which is based on the 5-speed stick shift model, was limited to 1,000, and all of them were sold out on the release day . However, they also said Lancer Evolution itself would continue to be produced and sold in the U.S., so we might see a next-gen Evo there.
With a sodium-filled exhaust valve, its power is 313 PS, 5 PS more powerful than Subaru WRX STI (VAB). Also, The combination of Bilstein shock absorbers, Eibach springs, BBS 18-inch wheels, brembo brake discs, and ADVAN tires makes this car easier to drive.

We will miss you dearly, Evo... :(

... do not meet its demands ... what a shame for such an iconic car.
:ouch:

You have my vote. It's a shame to see an legendary rally car go. :(

RIP Lancer Evolution, You would be remembered forever! :(:(:(

This cannot be happening :(:(:(:(:(

Don't worry. Mitsubishi also said they would continue to produce and sell Evo in the U.S., so we might see the next-gen Evo there.

No way is this the end of the Evo. I predict that we will see a high performance hybrid that bears the name again within the next 5 years (A Mitsubishi rEVOlution if you will)...

Now that it's 2015, the Evo X's design seems outdated. But it would be sad to see the Lancer Evolution go.

Tetsuro Aikawa, the president of Mitsubishi Motors, admitted that he wanted to release EV Evo (EVO can be read like EV-Oh in Japanese, which means the king of EV, he said) someday, although that they did not have any plans for now.

I'm not at all surprised at that. Cars like the BMW i8, LaFerrari, 918, P1 etc. prove that there is definitely a market for more clever and responsible performance cars, and vehicles like the Evo are the perfect way of releasing that tech to more mainstream buyers. Something like a 350 bhp small capacity turbo engine driving the rear wheels combined with say, a 100 bhp E-motor that kicks in to drive the front wouldn't go amiss. :D

This is too sad, amazing cars like the Evo are being replaced by wifi signals on wheels. :(:nervous:
