No, I'm not talking about the confusing ones with the little creature/thing VW calls a "fast."

I'm talking about the "Unpimp my Auto" series.... :sly:

Jason and his '98 "vatchamacallit"
Mike and his tricked-out "vhip"
Dre and his ride

Also, a very cool Europe-only ad that first aired quite a while ago, but is still a great one --

Singing in the Rain

Maybe it's just me, but I think VW's marketing crew are on a roll (and not just with the GTI -- there's the Passat commercial with the rocket, and others). :)

The only thing marring their recent string of ads is that silly "fast" creature/thing. :indiff:
 
I don't know if they ever aired it, but there was one for the smaller Volkses a while back. It had this suicide bomber who wanted to blow up some politicians or something, but the Lupo (or Polo) was so safe and solid, he detonated himself, and they show the explosion only inside the car. It was hilarious.

Those American Golf ads are brilliant. The '98 Focus - I mean, erm... the vatchmacallit - is the best one.

Just wasted 15 minutes on the link from the Golf ads specing up a GTi.

Those are great. Seriously, VW ads have always been clever, but these are instant classics. If you haven't tried the spec-out Flash site thingy, do it now, so you know what the blonde chick thinks of satellite radio... XD
 
YA those rock! They started airing this here the other day! I find it awesome how they're destroying ricey cars in the comercials.
 
if you want to know about FAST go to google video and search for Project FAST and watch it. Its long but kinda cool. I think the FASTs are pretty cool. They are going for $800+ on ebay to

I like the FAST ones better than the others, however both types are very funny.

But my favorite is the "Singing in the Rain". I just think it is a neat concept but that what the ad department decided to do was to aim at a younger, more "hip" audience. I believe the Singing comercial to be directed at original owners (as the ending line states) tying old and new together.

The FAST is awesome though. I like how they took a word that wasn't a noun and creating a "something" out of it.
 
Oh man, When you actually buy a GTI you get that black little "FAST" figurine! He's got a customizable tail too!
 
The un-pimp your ride adverts with Peter Stormare are great 👍

Haven't watched the Fast ones yet.
 
We dont get any of these adverts in Australia (maybe the singing in the rain one), we have had the Mk V Golf for quite awhile now so I doubt we would see these ones.
 
I took a marketing class last semester. At first I thought, "this must be the work of CP+B" because only them have these crazy iconic ideas and actually have the guts to show these commericals and ads in the US. When I seach via google, and sure enough, it was them.

They also did mini cooper, truth (smoking ads), burger king, and a LOT more. They're so successful, everyone wants to have a piece from them.

The fast ones are dumb, imo.
The 2nd one is awesome though.
