You are of course free to take this as high as you like, however please be aware that our AUP here at GT Planet has always contained a section relating to spam/useless posts, a category that the site owner considers considers BUMP posts to sit firmly in.
This is the same AUP that you agreed to follow when you joined GT Planet.
Its the same AUP that is repeated in the Marketplace sub-forum, and reads like this....
Famine
Please bear in mind that the Acceptable Use Policy applies in this forum just as much as every other place on the site.
This means you must use English to the best of your ability, including appropriate use of capitals (punctuation would be nice too, but we're not after miracles) and textspeak is banned:
AUP
# You will post all messages in English.
# You will not use “textspeak” (“r”, “u”, “plz”, etc.) in your messages. Decent grammar is expected at all times, including proper usage of capital letters.
# You will not behave in an abusive and/or hateful manner, and will not harass, threaten, nor attack any individual or any group.
# You will not knowingly post any material that is false, misleading, or inaccurate.
# You will not use profanity in the forums, nor link to content which contains offensive language without sufficient warning.
Please also note that "bump" posts are utterly without merit and will be classed as spam, as will multiple consecutive posts from the same user ("double-posting"). Posts and threads will be removed if they fall foul of this.
Lastly, if you want to ask people for, or offer, actual money for an in-game car, this forum is not appropriate for that. Real-world transactions must take place in the Trading Post forum, and only GTPremium members may post threads there (though anyone may participate) in accordance with the rules of that forum.
AUP
# You will not post advertisements or solicitations outside of designated areas or without proper authorization.

These are rules that have been in place here at GT Planet for many years and the mod in question was well within his mandate to act as he did.
GT Planet is proud of the fact that it does not operate to the same standards as the majority of the web, we set the bar much, much higher.
Its part of what differentiates us from the usual text-speak, abusive ridden, huge picture filled signature, bumped to death dross that passes for forums on the majority of sites. Its this difference that our long term members appreciate and, as they often tellus, the reason why they stay here.
We are well aware that these standards often come as a shock to new members, which is why warnings are given and offending posts sometimes deleted. However I have to be blunt, the chances of these rules changing as almost non-existent.
Which leaves new members with two choices. They either adapt to how GT Planet operates (and many embrace it) or they leave.
