Modchip Help

i was wondering what modchip to buy to play imported and backed up games on, ive read good things about the DMS3 but loads of people recommend the messiah 2. I need a chip that will still allow me to play my fifa 2004 online and GT4 online. I also heard about stability and power consumption being an issue. I really need to get a chip urgently as my GT3 original is causing crashes and its getting annoying now.
 
use the search button - I've answered a lot of questions on this already. Both chips are good but pick the one that's within your price range. The crashes are most likely a faulty laser - not the chip. It could also be that your ps2 is crapping out on you.

the ONLY WAY to play those games online is if YOU HAVE THE REAL GAME.
 
thanx for the info, i do have the original games thats why im worried, im unsure if having the chip installed will affect playing online. I wont get blocked from the server or anything will i?
 
^ what he said...if it's a new chip, just turn it off & you can go online safely. Sony doesn't do any bans of any sort that I know of right now...maybe to cheaters but I think they just delete those accounts or something.
 
Does the DMS3 have the ability to go in to sleep mode, from the other threads on chipping it looks like thats the way to go but i need sleep mode.
 
dms3, Magic3.1 & magic 5 both do, Messiah 2, Duo 2 (I think) - anything from the last year supports sleep 👍
 
I hear the new Magic V is the best but then agen I just have the Disc Swap with Flip Top cover mod. Works perfectly....but it gets kinda annoying. I recommend the disc swap if u dont wanna solder anything:D
