Hello i have just ordered a 350mm race wheel with boss kit over the original tiny 280mm. Are there any wear and tear issues i should be expecting or should it hold up well.

I've had a Momo Monte Carlo 320mm on mine for a good six months with no issues.

I've been using my 320mm g27 everyday for at least 6 months as well, and it works perfectly. You should also consider a brake spring upgrade at the same time. I have a GTEYE progressive spring at its great! Post some pictures when you get it done.

Thankyou for the help ill try and get a few pictures up:-).when its installed.

Don't forget to get new paddles. The old ones will be hard to reach with the new wheel.

Chilicoke sells them doesnt he? And i generally use the shifter most of the time .

Chilicoke is done as far as I know. You could try http://SimRacnWheels.com. Charlie makes some killer products. I bought a set of carbon paddles and a wheel adapter from him and couldn't be happier. His site says he's taking a break from production but I bet if you shoot him an email he could get you what you need.

Thanks for the help mate. Chilicoke has a website where he sells merchendise but ill check out simracn. ill see how the original ones feel but i dont use them too often anyway. just a quick question. How does the ffb feel with a bigger wheel?.

You should ask around about chilicoke. Many people have tried to contact him including me and have never gotten a response. FFB feels about the same but it steers so much nicer with a bigger wheel. You'll love it.

Looking foward to trying it ill report back after my boss kit arrives .

That website is looking like it has sone good products on it.

:) Derek does a lot of nice parts, and he contributes a lot to the sim community 👍

As for FFB with a bigger wheel on a G27, with a 350mm you will notice a significant reduction. It will not pull as strong on your hands but all the subtleties ARE still there, just soften up your hands on the wheel and you feel everything just fine. I prefer 320mm down to 300mm as it keeps a bit stronger FFB while improving the overall smoothness. But I drove with a 350mm for a while and it especially good on the ovals :)

DSD Mini Plate on Momo Mod 08

Thanks!

Im not sure if you rate wheel by inside or outside diameter but its 325mm inside 350 outside.

Pilmat, just had a quick look through you're photo stream and noticed you're running the omp wheel with dsd adaptor and plate. How far behind the wheel are the paddles and are they still reachable easily? The DSD adaptor is about 3/4 inch thick?

I am looking at a getting an omp trecento wheel (flat dish, 300mm) so I'm thinking i could get away with the stock paddles for width (g27 is 270mm) but I'm not sure about them being too far behind the wheel, what do you think?

I considered the Tricentro, but opted for the Superturismo for the shape and BUTTONS :dopey: As I said I think 300-320 is about perfect (good size for GT cars, big enough for oval and small enough for formula cars). And Conbon14, the measurement is to the outside :)

The DSD is a touch thick when combined with a wheel plate in my opinion (remember I have the SLI-M adapter plate on there too). I sanded mine down on the top (so the G27 bolts are flush and then on the back to around 0.550" total. It is farther from the paddles than a stock G27, but with the DSD paddles I got used to it very quickly.

Thanks for the info, I'll be using a DSD mini plate I think to get my buttons back. there are some aluminium wheel adaptors on ebay that could be an option as they are a bit thinner. I do have the option of making some custom paddles with a bend to bring them closer if needed...but that is more work :)

The supertourismo is a lovely wheel, same one that is used in the Porsche Supercup cars I believe... I just think 320 may be a little big for me, I don't want to lose too much ffb

Bad news

Guy i bought it off said it fits g27. Turns out its a g25 boss so ill have to wait again...

Got the wheel fitted and it feels good but there seems to be a lot more side to side motion if you get what i mean is this normal?

Do you mean "free play" in the steering wheel? As if the ball joints are worn out on the car?

If so, this could be due to the higher leverage with the 350mm wheel. Does the wheel "knock" when you hit curbs (this is especially prevalent in the Spec Racer Ford in iRacing...)?

No. Its as if the wheel is loose in the gears its not horrendous and not to much worse than normal. Its just something i have to get used to i suppose. Ive heard it would do this anyway.
