Anyone have any model railways or trains?

I have a reasonable amound of HO track, mainly hornby, and a couple of trains.

Trains:
A few Industrial like trains
GNER White Rose set (a blue eurostar) Cost me £80 a few years ago
Some other train i can't remember the name of off hand. Special edition something. Cost me £90 a few years ago.

Unfortunately, i can't supply exact details, as all my stuff is in the attic of my house. Model railways is just one of the hobbies that have been squeezed out of me in favour of more room in our house.:( :(

Anyway, anyone else got any stuff? Most of mine is Hornby.

I have a little N gauge ring that runs around the base of my monitor at work. When there are a lot of conversations going on I run it to generate a little white noise. I used to have a more complicated setup on my back desk but people kept shoving my inboxes into it and busting it up.

My Dad has quite a few, N gauge I think. He got them 10-15 years ago. At one time he wanted to sell them because he was never using them. He looked on e-bay to see how much his trains went for and gosh, £100-£120 each for some of them. In the end he kept them because he might regret selling them in the future.

I'm not that intrested in trains though.

I have a 00 gauge railway based on a fictional preserved line in Cornwall. It's about 8 foot long, but it's no-where near finished. I'm hoping at somepoint to have it all around the room, with 2 terminal stations either end, and a country station in the middle.

I'm not a great fan of trains exactly, i prefer cars, but trains are quite cool things to make a whole display for, like trees and grass and stuff - ever tried to make scalextric track look good on display? Thought not!

I have some HO guage stuff, and I got my uncles N guage stuff. He has boxes and boxes of it. I say that we have over five boxes of N guage stuff. I have never put it all together, but my dad says that we should start to design a permanent trainset thing on a large table.

I was thinking of starting an online store selling electric train sets, mostly for kids, but for adults, too. Anybody out there interested in trains that could tell me whether they think this is a good idea?
