I was viewing The Rumble Strip at 4:52 p.m. (16:52, my time) when I looked at the members viewing list. Oddly enough, daan, despite being a moderator, was a member. He retained his moderator status, and yet here I was, staring, mouth agape, at this list, because he was on it. Does this have anything to do with trading forum skins? I don't believe I had encountered it until possibly now.

Oh Noes.

Help, I'm being repressed.

EDIT: < Still say Super Moderator there, so I must be.

Aha, your being punished for belong to a race who go commando in tartan skirts ;).

Everything looks fine on my end, he's still showing as a mod.

Are you talking about at the bottom, where it says “Currently Active Users” and something like “5 (1 members & 4 guests)”? If so, it always shows mods as members; the only difference is that mods have their names in bold.

It is the currently active users page, but there are seperate sections for members and moderators. It is in the forum index. daan does still show as a Super Moderator on his posts and profile, but he is listed under the members section of this index as opposed to the moderators. His name is still bolded, though.

I'm a bit confused, you said it's on the currently active users page, but it's in the forum index? Can you link to the page where you saw this, superberkut?

Can you take a screenshot of what you’re referring to? Because AFAIK, the Currently Active Users section on the forum index has always shown everybody together, in alphabetical order.

[edit]: Oops, tree’d.

It's evident on the GTP Rumble Strip: at the lower limits of the page, there are 'Display Options', with information of Currently Active Users (With a Guest Count), and to its right, the Moderators section. I saw daan in the Currently Active Users section, while Duke, boombexus, Sage, and Mazkid were the moderators. Or was that Pako?

Perhaps I should have worded it differently...

The Moderators section means which moderators are “assigned” to patrol that forum, not which moderators are online.

I think he means that his name is not in bold, is that what you're saying?

No, he means this bit...

Most Super Moderators started off as a Moderator of a specific forum first. "My" forum is the GT4 forum as thats where I started as a Moderator. I was only able to mod in the GT4 forum, not the Rumble Strip or anywhere else. Now that I'm a Super Mod, I can mod anywhere but I still retain my original forum.

Alot of the mods I never really see round here anymore? (eg, mazkid) whats happened to them and don't we need more mods if they arnt around and the site keep growing?

Not to say you guys that are here now are not doing an outstanding job! :)👍

They, like many normal members, tend to find lives that prevent visiting here often. The admin staff (Jordan, Der Alta and Duke) appoint new mods as and when they're needed. I seem to remember it was about the time that mazkid and boombexus left that we gained daan, Touring Mars and Famine as mods, amongst others.

Exactly. daan is da man.

I just couldn't do a time-capture, that's all.

This site runs perfectly fine with the current moderators, it doesn't really require more, come GT5 time it is possible there may be more moderators required due to a high influx of new and returning members actively posting. Even then it is likely that the moderators who only visit here time to time will return and thus no problem. And even if there is if it is not enough, given the current speculated release date for GT5 (which you can add at least half a year onto) Jordan won't have to worry about it until at least 2009 :D
