As with many others around here I'm tired of the majority of threads coming down to some sort of whine-fest. Duping should be banned. Bring back duping!! PD sucks. I'm going to Forza. etc etc etc etc. Enough.

I play GT5 because I enjoy it. I simply don't want to read post after post of people picking holes in the game I have been looking forward to for many years, am glad it has finally arrived and am having a great time playing. That's the keyword here people - playing. It is a game. Not life. No-one is coming to your door and kicking you in the nads. Just have some fun and don't sweat the small stuff.

So - I really want to have a forum where GT5 enthusiasts discuss the various facets of the game and how to get most out of it. There certainly have been some excellent threads around here of that ilk and I would love to see and contribute to many more. I just don't want to wade through the trash to find them.

Mods - is this an option ?

We do. It's called The Infield - the GTPremium forum.

Otherwise, if you're looking to not have to deal with people's opinions about GT5 in a forum for opinions about GT5... I have no suggestions. The whining will die off as people move on to other games.

Yeah, by the time PD sort this game out all the whiners will have moved to forza 3 (or 4)

Thank god. There will be more server space for me and the people who like the game.

Thing I love is how all the whiners are allowed to keep there threads alive and them me and a few others not whining and just stating facts get there threads locked.

Give them there own section to whine about GT5 please.

Anybody been a member of Elitist Jerks?

I hate the way they run their forums, but sometimes it would make this place a nicer place. However a large majority of posters would be banned and threads binned.

Patch has just been released and people are on their weekends with nothing better to do, myself included. A lot of these people use this time to whine about things that don't really matter, and that they will not care much about come monday morning.

We need a new sub form called "Whiners only"

Right - I just don't want to have to pore through it all to find the interesting, considered and constructive input. Maybe I'm just tired

Dont get me wrong, i agree. I don't get all this meaningless whining. People will always find something to whine about, you'd swear this game was the centre focus of some peoples lives the way they post about such trivial things.

But as i said, come monday it will likely ease off.

If you're that annoyed, just do something else other than browsing the GTP Forums. Go for a jog or something and clear your head. :)

For everyone!

The thing is people will always talk about what's new, so today after the really controversial update, you'll do well to find many threads that are not centred solely on the trading cap. You can't ask the mods to delete every single thread which discusses it because I'm sure they're busy enough today just trying to keep the place in order. It also works both ways, when PD released patch 1.06 there were a ton of threads praising it's content with very little whining that day.

Could you list and explain to me the differences between these cheeses, so i know which ones to pick?

Well, you have your aged cheeses on the top shelf, which will typically have a more flavorful character and distinct finish. These are excellent with "OMG WHY DID PD FORSAKE ME AND NOW I HAVE TO EARN CARS BY PLAYING THE GAME" and red wine. Definitely complimentary with herbs.

The bottom shelf are your soft cheeses. Typically creamier and more mild in flavor, these pair quite nicely with "I guess I'm going to have to play Forza now since Kaz must not care about me anymore :(" and some fresh, crusty bread.

:)

 Thanks for that. You can stay ;)

Thanks, i think i have a much clearer idea now!

I don't think a whine-free area is necessary, but like you, I would like to see less threads about "GT5 sucks!" and "[Insert] useless complaints" all over the place. I have been on this forum for less then two weeks and I'm already getting tired of the complaining.

Sadly, I don't see the complaining dying off soon. Three months and still a ton of complainers about the game. If the Nintendo Wii is indicative of anything, people will be throwing fits about Gran Turismo 5 for years.

That being said, it might be a good idea to ignore the complainers if you don't like reading their posts or at least if you're going to respond, make sure that you don't end up looking like a fanboy. It took me one and a half years to learn that when I used to be a Nintendo fanboy.:dunce:

But I was born a fanboy :( :dunce:

I think people in forums should have a bad poster stat of some sort. When mods read their comments and find them to be so off topic or empty (i.e. not making a valid intelligent point or argument), they would be given a penalty mark against them; and if they reach let's say five, they would be put into mute status for a couple weeks where they coould not post anything. There is nothing worse than having to wade through generic posts to see the good ones. It is often very obvious when they are not on topic: I wish there was a way to move people's individual posts a "The generic nonsense trash bin".
The other feature that would be nice is a "worth reading" stat for posts that would highlight posts after enough clicks and make picking out good ones easier.

As with many others around here I'm tired of the majority of Gran Turismo 5 coming down to some sort of grind-fest or worse. Unplayable GT Academy, un-get-back-able traded supercars, 20,000 Skylines but no DBR9. etc etc etc etc. Enough.

I bought GT5 because I thought I'd enjoy it. I didn't expect to read post after post of people picking holes in the game I have been looking forward to for many years and finding myself agreeing with their sentiments. That's the keyword here people - playing. It is a game. Not life. I shouldn't have to "grind" or play B-Sec ad nauseum, let alone give my mate a car I had to grind for, only to find I don't get it back.

So - I really want to have a game that GT enthusiasts will want to and enjoy playing. There certainly have been some excellent games (and upcoming ones) of that ilk and I would love to see and play many more. I just don't want to wade through the unexpected trash that is GT5 to get to it.

Polyphony - is this an option ?
