Wondering has anyone mod their Logitech G27 H-Pattern Shift to a Sequential Shift..

If you have, and seeing this post..

Does this register into Gran-Turismo?

If you want the cheap way out: Map shift up and down to gears 3 and 4, and add some rubber bands. Stretch some of the rubber bands towards you and hook them on the clamp knobs. Then stretch more away from you towards the back of the shifter. Keep adding more if you want a stiffer shift. You might need strong, thick rubber bands if you don't want them snapping from constant shifting.

If you want the expensive way out: Get a G25 shifter and use this converter box, or go to this thread and manually wire the G25 shifter to work on a G27. Or buy a separate sequential shifter from another manufacturer, like the TH8RS.

Yes thank you, I want the cheapest way.. Does mapping the shifts involve soldering? If so, is there a way to solder without the soldering tool?

Nope. You can map them from the game itself. Go to Controller settings and map them there. If the game for whatever reason doesn't recognize the buttons download Logitech's Gaming Software.

So I can use Logitech software to remap my shifter 3&4 as up shift and down shift? Is that what your saying? Correct me if I'm wrong.

You don't have to map it from the software. Try to map them in the game first.

Bear in mind that the Logitech controller software has no effect in GT.

So there is no way I can have sequential shifting unless I solder right?

There is no mapping my shifter in GT settings. Its only wheel and shifter buttons.. Not shifter itself

There isn't much you can do, since GT doesn't let you map it nor lets you use Gaming Software (only PC). Really the only option you have now is to buy a separate shifter like the TH8RS. I'm not 100% if the converter box will be recognized by the PS3 & GT or if the wiring will work on PS3.

Thank you, much info is very helpful. 👍

Do you know if I wire or get a th8rs shifter if GT will be compatible

No that will likely only work on PC if at all

You can try to find a old G25 shifter to use. The wiring is different so you need to rewire (I think solder free) the plug or use the G27 wire on the G25. If you go this route there is a write up somewhere in this forum on which wires to switch,
I'll try to post it if I find it.Here it is

Yea, thanks man but that involves soldering which i don't have..

And i can't even find a g25 shifter.. Im going to have to deal with this H-Pattern..

I want to find a way just only involving with the g27 shifter alone, to make it sequential.. with no soldering. which i can't.. probably isn't any way.

There is lots of ways to do it, for other games.. mainly PC, but for console playing GT. It just doesn't register for the game. I've done it. :banghead: :grumpy: :boggled:
