I call this car, which is my latest brainchild, the "Monaro Ute."

Due to the overwhelming response to the Carbon Monaro R (0 orders), production on this concept have been suspended indefinately. Here however are the estimated specs...

Monaro Ute

Powerplant: whatever's in the current SS ute (LS1?)
Curb Weight : Whatever the SS ute weighs
Performance: same as SS ute
Price : see SS ute

 Ok so what are the differences from the Holden SS Ute?

lol i have no idea, it's all in the brand name. when i was trying to do a monaro choptop in photoshop last night i suddenly realised that the monaro is basically just the ss ute with the tray covered up..

don't actually mind the ss utes, but i'd have no idea what to put in the back if i bought one

The ute uses Commodore shorter doors, while Monaro ute would be the same with longer doors and maybe some more room.

there was a ute concept from hsv a while back called the maloo, or something like that, which looked pretty cool. the only thing i can think of to put in the back would be to buy a motorbike (eg Ducatti 999R) and use it the ute to transport it to the track and back.. either that or convert the ute into a sandman station wagon like the one they had at the motorshow a few years back.. will post pics if i can find any..

Well the Maloo you can buy anytime (doesnt have the monaro doors) check www.HSV.com.au but thats the HRT Maloo concept.

Where are you from by the way?

ahh so the one i posted was actually the hrt version.. i don't really keep up to date with all the local cars/utes, would you believe this was first time visiting the hsv site:)

i'm in nsw, how about you. i tried looking up that post with your skyline pics but they won't load, it must be my dialup connection.. max speed i can get is 33.3 and i'm trying downloading those best motoring videos so everythings really slow here

Saw a Vauxhall/Holden ute yesterday while spectating a hillclimb. First one I have seen in this country.

Ah a Holden Commodore SS Ute (VX), suprise to see that out of Australia

VX is the previous model we ar VY now.

haha prince nigel you're a troublemaker

holden will probably see this thread (and your carbon monaro one) and think their trend of making all their cars look like commodores is acutally good, and release some more. dammit!

Would you quit making stupid post and quit spamming up the auto forum with garbage.
