I know for sure I did not get gold in all 3 Top Gear challenges. So maybe that is why. I hope I do not have to get golds to unlock the track, because those are 3 frustrating challenges.

Performance Points for Marrrrrch Forward

As I said before my March 12SR '07 is fully modded and around 468 but it's not broken in yet. Are you thinking less is better here? The car feels pretty good with the max hp (233 atm though not broken in). I'll break it in today/tonight with a B-Spec enduro and see where the PP stand.

* I went ahead and added all 4 of the cars you mentioned for the March race. I was initially going to include these but then I noticed that the '07 has like 33% more power than any of the others. I don't care if anybody wants to use a low powered car but the thing I hate is when someone sees the specs on Monday night at 7PM then they show up with an underpowered car, get frustrated and quit after 10 laps. If we just make everyone race the same car (the Premium '07) then you don't have this problem.

Running just the March 12SR '07 is fine by me especially since it's easily acquired in the premium dealership, I wasn't even suggesting we use the others from the that platform just listing that they were options if we so chose.

* In terms of the LeMans race I need serious help. I don't know my race cars very well but I was just thinking any race car in the game that had the "LM" suffix in it. Although I'm not opposed to racing LMP, Group C, GT1/2/3, GT500, GT300, DTM, etc. I guess all we really need is a list of comparable cars that can be found easily (i.e. premium dealership).

As far as cars available in the premium dealership I'd say the best possible outcome would be the Audi R10 vs. the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP.

The Mazda 787B is also available in there but that would be the lone Group C car, unless you count the Toyota Minolta which is winnable in the A-Spec like the wind race.

I made my greatest online pass ever in this race... snipped the race report

Another awesome race report! This seems to have been our most fun and most popular event to date and I hope they keep getting better!

* No problem moving the Fuji Race and the UK race.
I have a Lotus, TVR and Aston ready for next week and I'll be on vacation the week after. I think we ought leave the schedule how it was since its been posted for awhile now.
Oops, I already changed it. What race do you absolutely not want to miss and when will you be on vacation?
Oh...thats alright. I prefer no changes made on my or any particular driver's behalf without vote. You've changed this one...which is fine but however many people race...we'll be dealing with that many different schedules etc.
When I first stared Monday Night Endurances I didn't even have a list of upcoming races. We'd race Monday night then I'd panic on Tuesday trying to figure out an event to do for the next week (luckily there were several awesome people who helped out figuring out specs and events). I finally got tired of procrastinating and made an out list of possible future races that I could pull from any given week. It has kinda evolved into the "Future Races" quote box in the first post. But it was always intended to be flexible, and we've changed things around prior.

If the group as a whole wants to make things more concrete and firm I can do that. But I'd rather give up that security to accommodate as many people as possible. Me, I don't really care what we do any week, I just want to race.

With that said, I can do a couple of things: 1) I can just put the schedule back to how it was, or 2) I can try to work with your schedule and Bri-y's (and anyone else's) and see if we can work out something so that everyone gets to race their most anticipated races. As long as it's easy I don't really care.

I certainly would not want diabolicwyvern to miss out on a race he's prepped for already. I know we had just come up with the Super GT and Secret Race idea in the past week so I figured it was still pretty flexible. Perhaps diabolicwyvern and I can come up with a race for you guys that week (the 4th) since it seems we're both on vacation then. Then we can put the UK Battle back to it's original spot and push the Super GT's back until after Mike's Secret Race.

I have one more thing to add here. This was definitely an awesome race. Towards the end I had lost count of laps and how many times I'd been lapped / lapped others. I think I was 1 lap ahead of CAMikaze, but 1 lap behind Brandofo, who I thought was also 1 lap behind the next guy. It was crazy, and I think everyone had a different pit strategy (some 2 pits, some 3, some 4, maybe 1 person had a 5-pit strategy???). yet #1-5 all finished within 25 seconds of each other after 90 minutes of racing. Incredible!!!

It was an awesome race. Bummer I didn't get to finish it as my pit strategy adjustment was going to be interesting. Who knows what would have happened. My tires would have lasted for a 1 stop strategy but... I don't think it would have saved me any time running so many laps in the 1 minute 12-13-14 second range.

I try to do something different every week, and I make an effort to do a slow race every few races. Ideas??? Aside from the upcoming Super GT race at Fuji I don't really see us doing many more races above 500pp.

Also, by the time I got around to testing for the Ferrari/Lamborghini race and I realized that 600pp was too high it was too late to chagne. I mean you couldn't even tune most Ferraris to anything above 550-575pp, and that's just stoopid. I really wanted to race my F40 but it was a non-starter. For future races like this one I'm going to make sure that the PP is set so that more cars can race; there's really no need to have to add more power to a Murcielago SV anyways.

As far as the Nissan March race goes, I'm super stoked.

Wow glad I went with my first instinct then in choosing the Scuderio! I didn't even test any other cars this week because I had just wanted to drive the thing since it had been sitting in my garage unused for a while.

We could always use the Super GT300 cars instead of the GT500. Or depending on how many people are racing use both?

I personally enjoy the GT300 cars more but would be willing to do the GT500.

I enjoy both as well, personally the GT500 Cars are a bit more fun to drive though. I don't think a GT500/GT300 mixed class race would be that great of an idea, at this point anyway. Perhaps if we knew we'd have 16 competitors and could divide it up equally, but at the same time the cash/xp dividends would all fall to the GT500 guys since you can't assign classes before a race.

If it's GT300 thats fine too...

:scared::scared:No pictures of my car yet...

@Benda--Hopefully I didnt come off to strong. I'm quite laid back. Since I joined this only recently I confess I did not read the forum posts except the OP and those after my first post. I have no feelings about particular races to run and should I miss one I'm looking forward to...I simply set up my preferences online and host a room to my liking. I enjoy following. It's easier :banghead:And I hate doing work after I leave work.:p

:-D We'll work it out man!

No worries my man :)

I'm happy to put my time into this and will continue to do so as long as people come back to race. Don't tell anyone but the main reason I do this is because I only have 1 night per week to race and I got tired of searching for hours and hours trying to find a decent room.

Plus, I like doing endurance races and pretty much nobody else is doing that right now online. I would've been happy to find just 1 other person to race but to see 8-10 people show up every week is awesome.

Endurance races for the win!!!

:scared:looks like PD might've taken TGTT down for a time to fix some kind of glitch. follow the discussion here

I set it as the default track in my lounge options and it loaded right up. Though the track does lack pits, which would cause an interesting situation if heavy damage were on and someone had a little accident going through the crossover sections...

considering the TGTT unknown right now it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a backup plan on hand, or just change the race to something else right off the bat (we've done this before). Maybe we could do the Fuji / GT300 race this week since everyone is so excited for it (and there are some vacation issues later on) and push back the March Race to next week.

I'm particularly interested in hearing what CAMikaze has to say since the March race was his idea.

Benda18, I've been looking for a GT300 race for a while, so I'd definitely be down for that this coming Monday.

I've done like 4 online races from here and never a race this long, and this race was the most fun. The pit strategy was very interesting. I had no predetermined strategy and was thinking about it as I was racing. My goal was to try to last as long as possible, and I could not believe how long the 2 cars in front of me were lasting. I made that remark a few times on the mic too. Looking at the tires and at the leaders (Ning and Mike) and thinking about the strategy, made the race even more enjoyable.

I also think these long races make me drive a little faster. I noticed my practice time was only about 1:09:XX and was surprised that my race time was 1:08:XX.

As for next week, I am down for whatever. My vote would be to keep with the Nissan March as I just brought one last night.

Hmm I always thought I came up with the Nissan March race....He might have come up with the track though because I don't recall suggesting a track.

he must've come up with the name Marrrrrrrrch Forward. I remember him contributing something.

Anyways I thought about this more and probably the best thing to do is keep the March and have a backup course at the ready. Perhaps Suzuka East? thoughts?

You know what? for our first few races everybody pitted once and it didn't really matter much to the race. Last week at Eiger there were 2 classes - 1 pit or 2 pit. This week was probably the most strategic race yet, with all kinds of pit strategies. It was great fun, and I hope in the future it stays this way

If its still sprint races Suzuka East would be fine. Deep Forest and Trial Mountain probably wouldnt be bad either, car setup wouldnt come close to what you need for Top Gear though.

I'm thinking about keeping the PP at around 400 or so, so this is going to be a slow race. I'm drawing a complete blank on courses that would be fun for slow cars (aside from Autumn Ring, which we did last time). Suzuka might be a bit too bland, Deep Forest would be fun, Trail Mountain too. We should probably stay away from City courses this week.

yeah, i think pit stops and tire wear really mix things up. you have to conserve tire, and go fast at the same time, while watching people around you to see what they do. it's like our own F1 races, except, at least from the only race i was in last night, there are a lot of passes and wrecks and mistakes. whereas in F1 the only passes are in the pits.

just thinking out loud, it could be interesting if everyone is required to use 2 different types of tire compounds, although there is no way to enforce except through the honor system.

the tire degradation is pretty extreme and it impacts the lap times a lot. of course, this could just make the fast drivers even faster as they are generally better on their tires than us slow folks. ha!

I think people try and relax, gather themselves, in the pits. Having to gauge fuel economy and tire wear is difficult already and adding tire selection and then relying on the honor system will just cast doubt over many racers. People you thought were level headed and calm, not one to rock the boat, just introduce this and find out. If you don't believe it...check out the last days posts in the LCS: Season 2 thread. We're having a whale of a time keeping folks collected. Not worth the hassle.

yeah, i'm not a big fan of making this more complicated. In Super GT they make everyone pit during certain lap windows. Do you know how hard it would be to enforce minimum pit requirements or tires? at a minimum it would mean i'd have to spend time watching the replay (which you can't even rewind or fast forward right now). I'm really not willing to do that for a casual race. or at all really. It's hard enough watching it and doing photos (which I love doing, BTW).

Hmm how long do we wait until we decide on a new track if it doesnt come back by Monday?
When I set final specs tomorrow I'll just throw in a backup track. I know it will suck for people who are tuning for the race but it's either that or deal with a possible cluster:censored: Monday if the track's not available. What track is most like TGTT in terms of suspension setup?

Nope, he was actually right in front of me on the last lap. I passed him through turn 3 and 4 cleanly and then I got rammed at the sharp right; turn 5. Upon further review of the replay I feel like it was intentional afterall (I have photos if I need to post them). I know it doesn't matter anymore because it's over with, but I just have to say it was a dirty move and quite uncalled for... next time just be honest and say that you stuffed me in the barrier on purpose. I suppose he wanted to get revenge from when I "hit" him before. I admitted to missing a break zone on lap 17 and even after making sure to give the position back I spent the next few laps apologizing for the accident. I had absolutely nothing to do with ramming him on lap 19...he started sliding out of control in front of me and with no runoff at Rome I did what I could to avoid him.

I know for sure I did not get gold in all 3 Top Gear challenges. So maybe that is why. I hope I do not have to get golds to unlock the track, because those are 3 frustrating challenges.
You're gonna need to get gold with the Sambabus to unlock the TGTT.

That would be the draft working in your favor. ;)

Well, I was what I found out at the end was the lead Ferrari in the race. And going by the photo, the car does look a little worse for wear after a few noted clumps with the barrier on the inside of the final turn. Hopefully, there'll be a Ferrari-Lamborghini II at Monza sometime soon? :)

And as I stated before, I was running my 458 Italia to what would probably be Ferrari Challenge specifications. Hence the starting position of 6th on the grid. I'd like to do a similar upgrade with the F430 that I have as well. ;)

question: how do i get the top gear test track available in my online lounge? i didn't see it.

It's definitely there for me, I've used it before online. In fact, I was testing on it in my lounge yesterday before the Rome race.

st1sj - I would check your list again to make sure it's not there. If it isn't you need to get your sambabus/TGTT special event golded quick so you can test :)
Fixed. ;) Though you might need to gold in another TGTT event before the track is unlocked. For me, I golded the Sambabus and Kubelwagen challenges.

Methinks the title is a bit backwards. The title I suggested was "Forwarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd, March!":) I chose the TGTT because I believe it was a former Air Force base at one time. The title was something along the lines of what a Army sergeant would shout to the troops.

If its still sprint races Suzuka East would be fine. Deep Forest and Trial Mountain probably wouldnt be bad either, car setup wouldnt come close to what you need for Top Gear though.
I'm thinking Plan 'B' should be maybe move the GT300 race up to next monday of the situation isn't resolved by then with the Forward, March event mooved to a week later. If it's still not resolved by then, have the March's race at Suzuka East.

First, has anyone tested to see if the TGTT issue is real? I haven't looked at the other thread yet this morning.

Second, CAM are you suggesting we move the Super GT race up to this coming Monday (the 14th?) or the 21st? Really need to figure this out by tonight.

Hopefully, there'll be a Ferrari-Lamborghini II at Monza sometime soon? :)
Absolutely. And this time it will be at Monza, the PP will be lower, and there will hopefully be better parity. And I'll quit 🤬 about needing something to race my Countach in.

For all you endurance race lovers out there, check out Top Gear Series 10 Episode 9 (Original air date 12/9/07). Jeremy, James, Richard & the Stig enger the Britcar 24 hour endurance race at Silverstone Circuit using a modified BMW 330d. You can stream it direct from Netflix.

Tested last night. Top gear was there.

By the way I like to get back the hour I spent on the lotus challenge. I know it wasn't necessary to unlock the track...

The Lotus challenge was by far the hardest of the 3. The tires they give you are junk.

The Lotus challenge I gave up on...I've gotten silver several times over the same way and at this point I'm through. I reach the third place car on the follow through, drafting for an inside pass. I take the second place car on Bacharach, but can't catch the first by Gambon's. Taking Wilson correct beginning lap 2 is very important. Its sets up an overtake of first at Hammerhead, I just never seem to carry enough speed to close the gap till afterwards.

Diabolic, the AI cars always fishtail at turn 6 (the one before Gambon) and you can pass them on the inside very easily. I know this for sure because I have seen them do it for a whole hour yesterday...

A few times I was passing for the lead and the AI car would spin into me to DQ me. That was mildly amusing.

Benda18: a couple of random ideas. (1) how about an Integra v Civic RM race. (2) a family transport race (Odyssey/Volvo wagon type of cars; I do not know if there are other minivans/station wagons. I only have those 2 cars).

Tesla Roadster racing will be interesting. I find it to be the most unique car in the game simply because of the awkward gearing and weight distribution. The slower corners are so awkward because you can roll through in second but carry no speed or drop down to first only to receive viscious torque steer. Plus the car is decievably heavy so proper ballast placement can really make a difference. I think spotting who spent due time tuning the car will be simple. Whatever the case, the Tesla will make for sweaty palms and exciting racing. :dopey:

Bacharach is the turn before Gambon. And you're right, they do. I can never decide to go out or in.

Good idea for the Civic vs. Integra race. As for the family transport race there are countless station wagos and SUVs in this game that probably nobody ever touches. I added it to the end of the list without a date, just to keep the idea. It sounds like fun.
