Another amazing night of racing!

Friends racing with friends who haven't raced together for quite some time.

You can join us next week, and the week after that. GT7 still has lots of interesting cars left to explore, but only if you race with us on Mondays. 😉

Monday Night Racing

April 20 @ 7:30 P.M. Eastern

Car: GT by Citroen Road Car, 500 HP, 3197 lbs, Tires = Sport Medium, (target PP - 626.34)

Add the FC Manual Transmission.

These races pushed the mathematics pretty hard. I did my best, but the races will be a bit longer than usual. The car just chugs gas!

You might recognise a theme or two regarding the tracks. Yes, they are all shortened versions of their parental designs. They are all influenced by Hermann Tilke, which means that each track is chock full of pinch-points! Please practice against the one-make AI, to understand your driving line.

Tracks & Conditions, (Laps)
Barcelona National, Tires = 12X 5X**, (12)
Nurburgring Sprint, Tires = 11X Fuel = 4X**, (11)
Fui Short Course, Tires = 8X, Fuel = 3X*, (11)

You won't want to miss this challenging night of racing.

Barcelona is a brutal track in this car!

Curbs are one thing, but the nature of most of Barcelona's corners will invite bad driving behaviour, so I made a datalogger video to visually show the kind of problems that a bad driving line can create.

Don't hit what you can see, but we also have to anticipate bad behavior when in open Sport lobbies. The type of driving shown here is very unlikely to happen in MNR races.

Please join us in our quest for clean but challenging races.

Thank you!

The lobby will be open in a few minutes.

You can friend me @ MastrGT.
Find the Monday Night Racing lobby, then I can add you to the Party.

I sent you a PSN friend request, I will look for the lobby next Monday
Got it.

To anyone else undecided about racing with us, last night was an excellent example of the good that our racing does.

The car was challenging but in a good way. We each had a chance to be in the lead and to mess up and pay dearly for our mistakes. There was a lot of close racing, too. I remarked to one driver that his driving has improved so much since he joined us after finding us here on GTP.

A more than usual number of curious people dropped in, to see what was happening with this odd car, but, of course, they backed out. 😊

Also someone getting back into GT who has been on my friends list for maybe 20 years joined us for the first time in a long time. 👋

I would love to see more of the hundreds of people watching this MNR thread each week decide to come find out for yourselves what you are missing. I promise that you will be a better driver by the end of your first year spent with us.

The next car literally broke apart my racing rig! 🤣

Posting the next race details are "rain" delayed.

April 27 @ 7:30 P.M. Eastern

Car: Gran Turismo F3500-B V8, 719 Hp, 1113, lbs, Tires = up to Racing Medium. Target PP = (959.77 @ default downforce)

Add the Racing Transmission.

This will be an unusual MNR because, if I recall correctly, it will be only the 2nd time that we will be allowed to use Traction Control. Most of us will appreciate TC of 1 during the race and 2 for the start. You will also have to manage tires and fuel, so both will help to slow you down, which means that we all should be able to finish all of these races.

This week will be a bit of an experiment and my fingers are crossed.

If you know of anyone up for this kind of a challenge, ask them about joining us.

The three F1 tracks were available in the early 1990s and are suitable for an F1 car of that era. This is the 8 cylinder version.

How many of the 1,337 recent viewers will race with us this Monday?

You are now leet, today!

Come race with us tonight!

If any of you are curious about how useful our races are, this is the week to come and find out! MNR uses repetition as a learning tool for any driver of any caliber. You are looking at 94 laps here in a wonderful car to drive! We challenge you all to become a better driver. It works, but only if you race with us. Fed up with Sport Mode and open lobbies? Join us instead!

Willow Springs Horse Thief Mile Clockwise, Tires = 1X* Fuel = 10X, (1)

There are 3 penalty zones just like this one at Red Bull. Keep your inside tires at least on the red/white strip.

With so many laps, getting your driving line just right will be important, so here are two lap guides showing the efficient line. I am not sure if I will have time to do a guide for the most difficult track.

Here is my lap guide for the very tricky Horse Thief Mile. A lot of corners for such a short track.

Join us Monday.
