The next MNR will be especially challenging and it will test everything that have we learned until now. Why?

Because a 71 HP tin can is not like last month's cars with gobs of power. These will be momentum races without the slightest chance of recovery from mistakes. Your line must be right, your braking on CH tires tests your judgment, hills require some thought, acceleration from a FWD on hard tires requires care, good tuning, tight drafting, even pitting mistakes will cost you. Don't lose speed! Don't lose speed! Don't lose speed!

But that's not all.

Your biggest challenge will be the laps - lots and lots of corners to either get it right each time or blow them! As always, we will have to think. Are you ready to go 100% and not make an error? If you can survive this night, a normal MNR will be a piece of pie (to quote JLo, in Enough).

Buckle up. Cinch your seatbelts tight.

"The UF 1000 in Live for Speed (LFS) is the game's slowest car, but it is wildly popular for close, highly competitive racing. Weighing 600 kg with just 55 bhp, these front-wheel-drive, 4-speed H-pattern hatchbacks produce incredibly tight slipstreaming battles."

I never played LfS, but it sounds similar, for sure. High power allows for masking errors. 71 HP won't. Next Monday's races will require good focus from the drivers. Last week, during the endurance races, the drivers had full concentration.

It has been long time since Smallhorses was active here, but he knew how to raise the bar.

About 100 GTP members wonder every day if they should experience our fun. Let's see who else will join us. At least we have 5 gears! 😇

You're off to a good start with us, Adwinistrator.

Monday Night Racing

July 6 @ 7:30 P.M. Eastern

Car: Autobianchi Abarth A112, 71 HP, 1565 lbs, Tires = Comfort Hard + Comfort Soft, (target PP = 275.79 + 344.80)

Add the FC Suspension, Differential, Manual Transmission. The Brake Controller is useful.

Because of limitations within GT, the first race will be a bit unusual for MNR. Instead of two ~15-minute races, the first race will be one 25-minute race, including pit-stops. I really wanted to be able to use Comfort Hard tires, but the math just didn't co-operate.

The tracks vary quite a bit. Tracks with hills, a long straight, walls, ugly curves and corners for a front-wheel drive car, even a tiny oval track will each require a different strategy. Not losing the draft will be super important! There will be no room for error in any of these races!

Do you feel lucky?

Tracks & Conditions, (Laps)
Northern Isle Speedway, Comfort Soft Tires, Tires = 50X* Fuel = 30X**, (25 minutes)
Maggiore East End Clockwise, Comfort Hard Tires, Tires = 50X Fuel = 21X, (15 laps)
Grand Valley South Clockwise, Comfort Hard Tires, Tires = 50X Fuel = 22X, (10 laps)

Don't hit what you can see. [SCCA rulebook]
