It is almost certain that the Monte Carlo grand prix circuit will appear in GT5. Besides being possibly the most graphically impressive circuit in the world it is also considered the hardest track on the F1 circuit to drive both for passing and simply keeping your car in one piece.

How do you expect this track will fare in online mode? I struggle to even complete a few laps of a race with damage on in F1CE on the PS3, and the first turn is almost always chaos. Even if it only involes time delay penalties it will be a real battle online. The one thing in favour is online it will probably be limited to 8 cars, compared to the 22 on F1CE.

Also unless there is some qualifying process online many people will quit if they start from 6th back you could imagine.

How will it fare, what are you looking forward to, and will you race it?

It will be a nightmare online in public rooms. It could be awesome in private rooms thougt with people you know. Either way, I can't wait to take a viper around monaco :)

It also has some places where punters can wall you. Monaco would have problems, but only the real people with the balls will tackle it.

and crash at turn 1 right?

Why would it be limited to 8 cars?

Monaco in an online world will need less cars. Why? Because real life doesn't have punters, and real life has damage. And Monaco is too narrow to support up to 20 cars without total catastrophe.

So should all tracks be limited to 8?

I doubt punters will only visit Monaco.

I only stated 8 drivers as I could be wrong, but doesn't London only allow 8 drivers online?

Really shouldnt be too different from the current Eiger race in the sense of tight track with no run off. What has surprised me since the update is the number of clean races I have had here... all of them ! For a track that would so easily lend itself to a punt fest to overtake, I have yet to see it, but that may be due to no standing start which seems to be the key.

Standing start at Monaco will have the same result as standing start of Fuji

It was more than great in GT4 LAN with 6 players, so I see no problem having it same way in GT5.

I would agree that Monaco would be an awesome circuit to race online, mainly due to the tight corners that would make for great racing!

how bout Macau Granp Prix Circuit (Guia Circuit)?

may not be as popular but as technical, if not, harder than monaco to race on.
would be nice to see 16 cars go through melco hairpin :)

I believe macau is harder than monaco. both tracks are impressive and beutiful though. I wish both is in. Im am not so concerned about the cars, because with 800cars in I think everyone will get pleased with a couple.

And it would be great if you could choose rather to drive in day light or night. :D

Real life has punters! Look at Jarno Trulli! Or Michael Schumacher for that matter... :D

How do you know that Monaco is going to be in GT5 for sure, i might have missed something

It was featured in Vision GT (with JGTC cars driving correct and Polyphony FGTs driving in the wrong direction...) and in a GTHD trailer (just short after some Nürburgring footage), i think its pretty much a given. I hope they redesign it though, the GT3/4 version is too different from the real one.

👍 It's always worked fine at the UKGTP LAN's too. Probably better than the likes of Hong Kong, Seoul or Suzuka West do.

As long as your competitors are courteous it's not an issue. The Monte Carlo circuit has only one racing line. Hong Kong and Seoul (you could also include the London circuit from GT5:P too) have several lines that work, but they all have different braking points. It's this fact that causes a lot of the issues.

I think a qualifying is a must here... especially for online...

But it will be very awesome to race in monaco... I love the Eiger online event...

Those are agressive drivers, not punters, and because of that good style, Schumi has won 7 titles, and Trulli has a win in Monaco.

Qualifying online would be good but most of the people would probably skip the qualifying because its too long or only the 4 first would stay and the rest would quit because they're on the back of the grid.

Tell Damon Hill that...

Or the six or seven other drivers that Trulli demolished a couple of races ago.

All I can say is, if we have online races with damage in GT5, then its gonna get very messy. Bits of Ferrari, arse ended Ford GT's, upside down R8 and maybe a Porsche or two... that has had its engine transplanted to where the boot should be. Still, I look forward to picking my way through the debris on my way to the top spot of the podium... :sly:

Now, seriously, I think it'll be an awesome challenge, yeah it'll get annoying, but I think priv-rooms will sort any major issues with punters etc. I dont fancy actually being in the swimming pool... :)

I'm really not fussed about online. GT5P has turned me off.

Seriously want this track however, it's been a favourite since
Geoff Crammond's Formula One Grand Prix on the Amiga.

I also agree that they need to re-model this track, looks nothing like the real track :P

Btw im new here, lol

I agree, Monaco has lots of places that are there for safety from crashing if you ever need them, like turn 1 ,and the chicanes aren't all wall, and i think that the pit entry in GT was wrong too.
