Oh yes, Davidson on Fisichella. I forgot that one.
 
Lol, was it that boring?. Funny thing that i watched my 1st F1 race on Monza 5 years ago and it was almost same lol
 
Full credit for the pass by Hamilton, which took a big pair. But one day that just isn't going to work. Seriously, he had every wheel locked up and was drifting into Kimi and about 1 inch from turning 8 championship points into 0.
 
^That's what I was thinking. It was a banzai move at best. Granted, he would have gotten Kimi pretty easily anyway, but moves like that are how people take themselves out of races. Lewis was a far better driver at the beginning of the season. Now, he is showing that he thinks he's invincible.
 
I find Hamilton to be (by far) the luckiest F1 driver this season. :D

100% agree. If Kimi had this sort of luck, he would have been champion in '03 and '05 already.

So far this season, all Kimi really had to do was get that 3rd place (maybe even a 2nd?) at Nurburgring where Hamilton didn't score points, and that would have really put him into championship contention.

Didn't see the race, saw some of the highlights but fell asleep in the last 20 laps or so. Great result for McLaren.

Good race? Some overtaking which is always a bonus.
 
Not much going on, Wurz, once more, doing crazy tactics that earn him nothing... Davidson's move on Fisico was pure gold, seeing as Davidson was with heavier fuel, too (1-stopper Vs. 2-stopper). Hamilton's move was completely insane, but it worked. Twice, considering his very-very-aggressive move into turn 2... One day, he'll pay. If it's this season, it'll give Alonso a slight advantage.
 
i thought the davidson move was great, i love seeing super aguri giving it to them who are bigger, especially renault, who are supposed to be much bigger. as for hamilton the sooner his luck runs out the better. he does seem to be a bit of a lunatic out on track. its good to watch, but sooner or later his luck will end. (as much as i dislike hamilton, he does know more than any of us and maybe his luck wont run out, maybe he is THAT good)
 
Montoya was a lunatic, but his luck ended too soon :(

I'd consider landing a drive at BMW Williams quite a bit of luck ;)
 
Not really, he had potenial and he did some good stuff with the BMW Williams.
 
It wasn't as close as you say it was. It was his first half chance and it took Kimi by surprise, if he hadn't of done it then Kimi's car would have been as wide as the track!

It did look like it took Kimi by surprise. Still a ballsy move. But I don't think it was very dangerous.
 
I think a few of the front runners are going to get a bit annoyed with Hamiltons agressive overtaking manovers, saying that I do enjoy watch the mad and slightly crazy attacking moves he takes, people complain about drivers finding it hard to overtake and would rather see some wheel to wheel racing, while I don't think F1 will just become 50 times better when the cars are able to overtake each other, it is fun to watch these barely plausable moves out on track, even if it is a tad risky.
 
The point was he did this amazing and risky overtaking move, when he didn't need too. He was that much faster than Kimi he could have just driven past him on just about any corner on the track. If I recall Kimi was turning in and had to turn away to dodge a skidding, out of control Hamilton.

I'll also had that his start line move was dodgy at best, pretty much trying to drive Massa into the wall, then going around the outside when there obviously would not be enough room and cutting all of the chicane.

I don't dislike Hamilton, but as Kylenat says he's gotten way to cocky. Next race he could just a easily try that move on someone else, and end up losing the championship.

Let's be honest: if that were Takuma Sato making the pass, lots of people would be saying that it was a stupid, dangerous move, not ballsy and heroic.

True, maybe I should clarify that it didn't look like he would have taken Kimi out with him... but who knows.

Besides, I don't think Takuma would have been able to pull off that move.
 
So you people complain when a race is boring and processional and you complain when there is an exciting pass for a podium position? What do you want?

He had indeed been forced to straighten out the wheel again for a second to avoid Hamilton. It was dangerous, it was exciting, it made my dad (who doesn't usually watch races) just be stunned.
If Takuma Sato did it, I'd say it's the most brilliant move known to mankind, the best thing one could achieve at Monza. Even if it wasn't an SA07 trying to overtake an F2007.

Actually... While he was a bit too aggressive seeing as there's not much space, he didn't do anything illegal. Basically, in the first part of the chicane, he overtook Massa from the outside. However, while they were still Ham'-rear-wheel-to-Massa's-front-wheel, Massa tried a contra - yet with Alonso in front, neither had space. Massa touched Hamilton, sending him with a bit of oversteer into the grass. He's lucky that it ended good for him. But, because of the touch, you can see he didn't intend to cross the chicane that hard, and hence why he wasn't punished.
