Rent it from blockbuster. Then hide it if she's ever around or when you leave the house. That way you'll only spend a few bucks on the rental and you won't have to deal with selling the one you bought.

She thought about you. This is it. As for me, I always prefer offering a present than receiving it. Don't cut her pleasure. Don't take the risk to hurt her for a week of play. A present is a present, accept it like it is.
And you're not obliged to lie about the real date of release. Tell her the truth. She will appreciate your choice to spend some time with her. She's the girl you love ? Well, can't justify comparison between her and a game, even one of the best ones.

Come on guy you can wait one week! You have been waiting for this game more than one year cause of the delays, so one more week isn't so terrible.
You have an awesome girlfriend who has made you a great gift. My advice is : enjoy the week of waiting with her and do things that are far more interesting than playing a game.... ;)

If the release date would now change to one week later, you would all be screaming, you would all be disappointed and the most of you would damn Kaz for this !!!

I can see the Problem and it would be terrible to wait for another week ! I´m german, so i already have to wait until 9th march, when most of you are already playing GT4. And i hate that !!! :sick:

I would suggest to find a friend that will buy the game on the first day and then i would buy some Chips and beer and visit him as often as possible in this week !

And you should contact the dealer and try to find out, when exactly the game will be delivered !

And tell your girlfriend that you love her for this wonderful idea but the more wonderful idea would habe been to get out of bed at 7:0O o´clock on the release day and to buy it in the shop, get home fast, give it to you and THEN have sex with the game beside you in bed :)
 
Well, my gf is way into videogames just like me so she'd understand if I started freaking out because she pre-ordered a game. But you know what? She bought me Shadow Hearts 2: Covenant and I got the game just after my birthday. If I were you, I'd wait and just go hang out with my friends that had the game or go to the store to play it. You're probably like most of us: have a lot of games on multiple systems we haven't even finished yet. I've been trying to finish my first season of Madden 2004 before GT4 comes out because I know I won't touch that game or any other game once I get GT4. Besides, like everyone has already said it's just a game and believe it or not your girlfriend is more important. You need to spend more time with her now. Just think about how much she'll be ignored once you have GT4 in your PS2. I'm half kidding on that one!
 
Personally GF>GT4, wait the extra week your'e still getting before PAL users (like me :ouch: )

BUT, if you REALLY REALLY want the GAME earlier then you could just use the excuse of 'it arrived early' if she asks then try and sell one copy later.
 
My girlfriend almost preordered it for me my last birthday, our aniversary, christmas and valentines day. She knows how big a deal it is.

Thats why I told her this is bigger than christmas and you dont want to mess with it. I love her for knowing thats what I really want, but I dont want to leave something that important to someone who just means well.

Should have warned your lady friend, good luck.


btw: I reserved my copy in store at GameStop yesterday and they told me they wont be getting until the 23rd, even though when I called they said they would have it on tuesday the 22nd. Man was I pissed, but if I've waited two years I can wait a day. ITS COMING!!!!

I have a conflict of interest and has just wondering if you all can give me some suggestions. Here's the problem: My girlfriend pre-ordered GT4 for me a month or two ago as a Valentine's Day present. That's the good part, the bad part is that she decided to have it delivered instead of just picking it up in the store. This means it won't even ship until February 23 and will take 4-7 days to arrive. This also means the earliest I will be able to play is around 3pm on the 28th. This means I will be waiting an extra week and missing out on an entire weekend. What do I do? Do I pretend the U.S. release isn't until the 28th or do I go out and buy a copy before class Tuesday and then return the copy she ordered me? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Spend that extra week wining and dining her and get as much u no what as possible because once you start ignoring her for gt4 you wnt be getting your piece.

Just... don't go to this site the whole week. The "omgz! proud oner of GT4!!!!1" topic will probably just depress you, and it's easy to feel lost in the rush. Just wait for it and dont ruin anything with spoilers. ;)
 
hahah i feel for you guys..here in finland if you preorder the game you will have the game at your mailbox the same day when its coming out..and the game is coming out march 9th :( i just cant wait..
 
Enjoy your gf for those extra days. Spend the time with her. Show her how much you appreciate her and how grateful you are for getting the game for you.

I've been married for over 6 years now, and my wife understands my gaming habit. Trust me, if she's smart enough to know that you want the game and pre-ordered it for you, she's smart enough to know how much time it will take away from her once you get it.

Plus, a Valentine's Day gift?!?! .....that's LOVE! Reciprocate it :)
 
Thanks for the advice guys. I'm not a horrible person I was going to just wait and spend time with her but the situation worked itself out. She came in this morning and told me that she changed the pickup delivery method and she's picking it up first thing on thhe 23. She said she knew how much I wanted it and how she wouldn't want to wait on something that important to her. She doesn't even care that I won't be paying any attention to her for a few weeks as long as she gets me at least an hour a day. I'm so lucky. Thanks alot guys.

Man, we've been waiting for this game for so damn long with all these delays, one week won't hurt... I am in the same boat here, preordered the game, now I gotta wait one more week. No biggie...

If she finds out you took her gift back, she might have a BF. Anyway, I think the game is worth more than your girl friend, if you realy do have one that is.
