More log-out trouble

I do not know if this is related to the other GTP problems that many are experiencing, and I don't know if it is just me.

For the past several days, GTP has been randomly logging me out. I can be actively surfing the forums and not going idle (I know if you stay idle for a while you are logged out), but I'll go to a thread, and the next thread I go to in the forums, the avatars have dissappeared, and I can't reply until I go to the sign-in box and log in again. However, I am not truly logged off (at least I think). I can't do anything, but I'm still listed as online at the bottom of the page.

What's going on? This occurs even while I'm actively browsing, and haven't even left the site/exited Firefox and returned, but have been on the entire time. Just all of a sudden, I'm offline, listed as online.
 
This happens to me quite often too.
I type a post, press 'post quik reply' and it says 'you have no permission to do this... you are banned or not signed up or awaiting activation or...'
I have found that clicking 'remember me' in the login box fixes it, but at school it happens all the time.
 
Hm, my router causes problems too but seems now that so many of you have confirmed it, its the site.
Hope it starts working :nervous:
Yes that happened, there was only 5 memebers on after that! :lol:
 
This is a problem with our database, which I'm working to get resolved (see the other active thread in this forum). Your problem should go away once everything is sorted out.

Since when? The only time I get logged out of GTPlanet is, well never, unless I reformat my pc. but this is the first time i have heard about gtplanet loggin you out for being Idle. I Honestly have gone days ( 2 weeks once) without firing up Firefox and pulling up GTP, and when I did, i was still logged in as ever.
 
I hope this isn't just me as I'd have no idea how to solve it but after clicking OK to log out (sorry Jordan, other things to do :D), my screen fills up with a load of code in the browser window.

In case you need it, how to I take a screenshot of it to show you, sorry, I need to start subscribing to those idiots guide books? :)

You hit the Prt Scrn button (usually above the help, home, page up buttons), then you paste it into an image program like Paint or Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. You save it, then you host it to Imageshack.
 
SuperT, this would probably be best asked in a new thread, but I'll go ahead and answer it here. What browser are you using? Also, if you want, you can just copy and paste a little section of that code into a post here and that should show me everything I need to know.

I found this bit a little worrying, the word error anyway. Otherwise I have no idea what it all means?

It does actually log me out as I've tried going back into look for my username in the users online section and it's removed my name so it's logging me out, I'm just getting this instead of the usual screen. If it's any help I normally click the remember me button before logging in and I normally only have GTP running on a single tab in firefox, if I've got more than one GTP tab open I just close each one and log out of the last GTP tab when finished.

If you need anymore info I'll be back in a couple of hours.

Edit: I've just tried in internet explorer and although I got the normal logged out screen, I got this above the blue GTP header,

With firefox there's a checkbox when you close the firefox window down asking if you want to clear cookies, cache etc. I do it every time and I regularly check in the cookies cache folders to make sure they are being cleared. Nothing in either folder, except an "index" in cokies?

Edit: I've not had my computer for a few days as I've been away. I have no idea what's going on now as it seems to have cured itself??

I've tried it both in IE and Firefox, no problems. Now I'm really confused?
 
Okay, the random log outs have been happening again recently. I don't think it's corrupted cookies, because I set FF to clear them every time I close it (I'm getting booted off while I'm browsing, though, with no closing of the window). Also, the New Posts trick doesn't seem to keep me logged in while idle like it used to.
 
No, because I'll be browsing GTP logged in, then I click on a thread and all of a sudden I'm logged off. I already know I log off when I close my browser. But this is just random bootings.
